Hamming it up basically .

I got bit by the bug really hard last year ( although licensed since 1999 ) and have multiple radios in all my vehicles . With my wire antenna over my garage I have talked to the east coast with 50 watts :pimp:

just for the heck of it a couple of pictures of my truck

I like pics :

BTW , this is my old antenna , not the Wilson . I ripped this off in 2006 on a tree ( long story ) and welded a big washer on it to fix the hole , it ain't going anywhere now .

If you want a gutter mount UHF that will accept a Wilson antenna as is , go to any hamradio dealer online and buy one ....and it won't be no cheesy bracket either , this one would be beefier :thumb:

Well i might be able to make a bumper mount work but it might be a little hard.

the biggest anntena the cb shop near me sells is 102"(8.6 Feet)
and i dont know how big the spring is,i am guessing maybe 7 inches.

Yup , won't leak . Even if it did leak , for some reason any water would automatically roll down and collect in the dome lens .

When my original mount rip out on the old heavy antenna , water collected right there , dropped the lens , turned it over , put it back on

Nothing beat the 9 foot whip. make sure it's 108 inch though. there is alot of 102 inch whips and yes they work, but you will never get the swr's exactly right.:wink1:

i was kinda thinking the 9 foot whip because i can leave it on the truck all the time and still put it in my garage

i could also do a 4 Foot fiberglasss antenna on the bumper.
Any other opnions?
