If I can finish the beast in time, I will try to be there. I may be able to talk a few buddies into going as well.

Re: Central Texas Slab Run: Feb 15-17th

Got the registration renewed today, installed a new Optima battery, and it's running good

(I haven't started it in about 2 months or so)

I'm headed out to the slab on Monday for a little brithday wheeling
laugh.gif
.... just to test it out ...... you know, make sure everything is working

(like I need an excuse .. LOL)

Anyone is welcome to come along, if it's possible. I know it's short notice, but I'm not going for the whole day, just to get a little wheeling in (prob from 9am - 3pm or so)

Where is the slab located at? there is a slight chance that I can make it from louisiana. Could I run it stock if i was careful? This would be my first time on any kind of rocks soI need some help though. All we have her is mud.

Re: Central Texas Slab Run: Feb 15-17th

The Slab is located in Kingsland, Texas in the heart of the hill country... it's about 1 hour north west of Austin, Texas..
It would definately be worth the trip..... and for a stock rig...
You'd have no problem.. Stoopalini and myself have wheeled there with stock rig's before.. and never broke anything...
Hope you can join us..

Re: Central Texas Slab Run: Feb 15-17th

Try it, it's a blast. Your first real test comes getting from the asphalt to the river. The river sand can be like a bottomless pit. Last year while waiting for some others to show up, we watched two old Scouts make it less than 10 ft from the asphalt before burying themselves to the axles. But they aired down, locked the hubs and off they went.
