Re: Central Texas Slab Run: Feb 15-17th

the 454 was mated to the trans last night in the m715. there's a little question of getting the headers to fit, and then a question of fitting a radiator into the big jeep's front end that can scrub heat outta the coolant enough to keep the engine happy.... it's going to the muffler shop tomorrow...

other makes aside, i'm excited to see some other k5s in action.....

hopefully the weather will cooperate, perhaps it'll be like today....

does lake austin look funny to you boys? aren't they lowering it like 12 feet to kill hydrilla? maybe my next house will be next to lance's or maybe on travis..... yeah...... sure......

Woo Hoo! Few days away

I had quite the surprise when I went out to inspect my truck this past weekend. Apparently, the fuel pressure with the truck off, was enough to push gas through the secondaries on my carb down into the cylinders and then seep into the oil
shocked.gif
My oil was full of gas, and created leaks in the oil pan, dip stick tube, and rear main seal. I got all three of those replaced, and it seems to be holding. I also readjusted the carb to prevent it from happening again.

So, as it stands today, I am in!

I am going to bring camping gear, and if the weather is decent, camping sounds like a great idea. If the weather is not-so-decent then I'll probably be heading back to my house and can accomidate a few people if need be.

Charles, I was planning to stop by your place today or tomorrow to pick up that Q-Jet from you ..... you gonna be around?

Thomas.
