So, I have a chance to buy another square body. It's a mid 80's C30 with a small block, SM465, full float 14 bolt drivetrain. Motor has been rebuilt and sounds healthy, trans shifts good. It needs a carrier bearing in the rear driveshaft, and some other little stuff here and there like shocks and sway bar bushings, but I can get that stuff cheap. The body on is in pretty good shape for around here, it has a little front end damage and some rot in the rockers but nothing that a little welder action won't fix.
My plan, if I do buy this truck, is to drive it for a while and eventually swap the cab onto my K5 frame. The cab is solid and is in good shape. I can get it for a grand, and around here it's hard to find a running, driving truck that hasn't been beaten to death from this era or rotted to hell and back for that price. Thoughts?
