A little bit of a difference without the sway bar. Removing it effectively reduces the spring rate. You might want to wait a little while before you remove the bottom spring. Give them time to break in first. Mine are almost 3 years old, and have sagged a bit, leaving that lower spring in.

Cage is a lot of work, but would be a good project before you do the interior. Consider how hard you'll wheel it, then decide. Its a safety measure more than a frame stiffener. If you tie it directly to the frame, it will be more rigid, but the ride will suffer. More vibs, etc.
