checked the Edelbrock site...

Well if it's just the plugs into the ECM? Then one set should last a lifetime...

The secondary lock is one of the parts that I know of that has been discontinued. The early LT1 ECM also use the same connectors as the Corvette '7727 V8 connectors but different colors. With most salvage yard '7727 connectors being about 20 years old now, the secondary lock is brittle and prone to breaking. Most wiring shops / business, like Larry's Electric, will only use new parts for their harnesses.

Here is a link for '7727 information. http://www.rowand.net/shop/tech/GMTPISwap.htm

The '7727 can also be found in front wheel drive cars. I have one in the shed with the plugs that come out of a car.
I said that above... :dunno:

Has anyone ever used the V6 one?

I guess I'll have to look through all the diagrams to see what the extra wires are for in the origianal Corvette ECM...

Well I looked through the Corvette 1227727 ECM wiring diagrams and was going to compare to the 1227727 ECM used in V6 applications but can't find them... so I used a set of ECM plugs/connectors to look for the blank/sqaure holes that do not have wiring on the V6 ECM.

There are 26 square holes, not used, as compared to the slotted holes that have the metal connectors snapped into.

Of the 26, the Corvette diagram lists 24 not used. The two that are used are:
B15 Gray/Red A/C signal
A17 Dark Green/White 4k PPM-CCM radio which I don't even know what it is or does?

The '7727 was used for both distributor ignition module, and per coil waste spark ignition module. It might be possible to use the connectors from the V6 '7727 distributor ignition module to work on a V8?:dunno: I just can't remember if the V6 '7727 used a distributor?:dunno: It's been a few years since I researched the differences between the V6 & V8 '7727 connectors, but I clearly remember the best answer was to use the Vette V8 connectors. Back then all the V8 connector parts were still available. I also remember that I considered an internal mod to the '7727 to use V6 connectors.
