Chevy's in the wild

And when I saw this my internal jukebox started play’n a song in my head of a little ditty about Jack-n-Dianne - ya see, they was two American kids grow’n up in the heart land.
Jackie’s gonna be a football star and Dianne was doin something in the back of Jackie’s car and then eventually moved on to outback of the Tasty-Freeze where she apparently let ole Jack do as he pleased - Dianne sounded like a swell ole gal !

We went to see the inlaws today for an early mom's day... And there was a car show going on on main street.
When we were on the way back to her house she said we could stop. I said we'd stop on the way out.

An hr later we go back into town and there's 2 cars still there chit chatting.... All gone :doah::frown

This isn't in the wild, but I'll throw it in here.
Doing the same with the NON Chevy thread.

My wife was cleaning behind a computer desk and found a bag of pics that I don't remember throwing together lol.
Just some of my old rides.

83 half ton with a modded 403 olds and 4.10's.
Snappy as all get out. Almost broke my back window with passenger heads a few times lol

A 55 with a semi-gasser vibe and a big ole 70’s A-Body Monte Carlo rock’n some Cragars - my internal jukebox is play’n Three Dog Knight and The Doors on standby with the Pioneer stereo dial on level ten for the 8-track player!

My Mom drove a brand new 78 Monte Carlo that was silver with a maroon Landau vinyl top.
It only had a 305 & Q-jet but she thought that it was fast - she would use the excuse of flooring it wide open on long roads and would say that it “needed” to be cleaned out because it’s good for the car.
We flipped the lid of the air cleaner on it without her knowing and that just made her do it more and more.
We nicked named her “Hot Rod Anne”

I used to dislike the body lines of that generation of Monte Carlo. But I would rock one today.
At the time I didn't particularly liked the lines but it was $500 and it had been sitting for years but looked like it could run.
It did pretty easily on the first day.
It had the 305 v8.
Fuel filter, spark plugs, wires and fresh fuel plus of course a new battery.
It grew on me very quickly because of the power to weight ratio, it was nice.
I also took it up to 200km/hr on a long trio to Syria, thats 125-130mph

Her next car was an 82 Olds Cutlass with a 3.8 Buick V-6 - - Mom was not happy !
She had no understanding of why it was not as fast - she just thought that all Oldsmobiles must be slower than Chevys because the Monte Carlo was faster…apparently ole Dad married for looks and not intellectual understanding - at least on driving matters.

My next car was an 86 Oldsmobile cutlass Supreme with the 307 v8.
It was no slouch either. Only problem was when the head gasket blew and I fixed it, putting back together the vacuum system didn't work too well I ended up taking it to pick n pull.
I paid $200 for it, I got $161 from pnp 3 years later
