Chevy's in the wild

Came across this time capsule from the late seventies - I was able to take several pics to validate the first two years of production of the K-30.
Truck also had a tachometer so bonus points were awarded !

If I am correct about the round gas cap usage being in 1977 and the square door starting in 1978 ( ? can y’all please confirm ? ) then that would mean this is a ‘77 model K-30 - first of the breed !

@tarussell that wasn’t the original tailgate in that pic you posted. The original was bowed real bad, @spicer (Ed) gave me a nice tailgate and hood that I put on before it was painted.

Did you grab pics of the rear spring hangers and blocks on that ‘77?

I forgot about Ed hook’n ya’ up on the hood & tailgate.

I got a 3500 Dodge tailgate from Ed to put on my 2500 truck because it had the lights - never put it on though.

And as far as the second question goes my answer is - You know I did !
I don’t know what’s up with the high-dollar axle paint job …

Also got pics of the instrument cluster with the tach.

It’s a 400/203 ( with a Gear Vendors overdrive unit hooked to the 203 ) and does not have the dual-crossmember skid plates.
