Chopped[rear roof] and bobbed suburban

I honestly think I want to do rockwells and some big ass military tires

They cost a lot less than the 60/14 combo with gears and lockers

I don't want a lot of lift though. Some trucks look ridiculous, I'll try to find pics of what I'm thinking about

Like this with the front tires way out

Everything is unbolted but the torque converter

Next Time I go down to our shop the engine should be coming out

Then it's time to get the front suspension out

I'm going to get the B52 front spring mounts. I don't really see any other way of doing it

Ok no more rockwells now

I'll do a 44/14 for right now

I found a crap load of pictures of chopped top burbs also

I think the top will stay on becuase I might have to keep it outside

I don't think I've touched it in a month

I may get the motor out tommorow....maybe

Anybody know the difference in length between a stock sub and one chopped to take a K5 fiberglass top? Maybe my eyes are deceiving me, but it doesn't look like the rig gets much shorter.

How about a Sub, with only 3-4 feet from the rear of the back doors to the back of the rig. Then a 1974 K-5 top chopped on the sides and stretched on the top all the way to the windshield? It would be a full convertible Suburban. It could also be a custom soft-top, but I don't know what you would do for B-pillars.

Not trying to be a dick about this, but.................You might want to reconsider a project of this magnitude. I base this on the fact that it's been eight months now and you still haven't even pulled the engine out yet (A two to three hour job, at the most) Let alone switching the truck over to 4WD and all the body work that needs to been done. At this pace, this build should take two to three decades to complete.
In my opinion, your be better off finding a 1/2 ton that's already done, then sell what you have while it's still worth something.
