Clocked my 208 today *Pics*

haha, I'm sure my neighbors never come near me /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif After rolling it off my chest, having all those little nubs stab me in the stomach and legs so many times I called it quits for the day. Tomorrow morning I will go get it down, scrape the adhesive, run another bead and put her in for good.

My wife got a good laugh out of me in the shower this morning, nice output shaft bruise on my gut and right into my shoulder, both arms bruised all over from grabbing it to lift and then the swollen bruise about the size of a foot ball on my leg from where I dropped the case /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif
I couldn't believe myself how bruised up I got doing a simple job like this.
I need to invest in a good jack, the last three have been crap and blow out the top within a few days of use. Sears jacks suck donkey doo doo through a straw!

that jack in the picture? I have one of those, it seems bad at the full top, so I just didn't bother and lifted it.

Now all you have to do is build one of these and you'll be set!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

It's an awesome upgrade for the price isn't it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Everybody that slows down I make them look under the truck, now I've just go to fix me up a nice new crossmember and get a front driveshaft that works /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

That's where I'm at right now too.

So till then the sawzall is coming back out and I'm going to hack my front bumper to kinda match the fenders! /forums/images/graemlins/hack.gif

I do have a crossmember and the right adapter to flatten it out more I just need the right rubber mounts /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

you said there was a few different settings you could clock the 208 to... what does the setting that doesnt require a body lift or cutting look like? does the front drive shaft need to be lengthened or shortened?

There are 3 settings, all creating better ground clearance. Mine is all the way up and I can't show you others cause its all loctited and ready to be bolted up. 2nd hole will require you to beat the floorpan with a BFH, as you can see the third goes farther yet.

There's a couple of pics in my gallery of what the ring actually looks like bolted to the front of the case. IMO, it's worth it to buy a 1" ORD body lift and go that route. You get smokin ground clearance, and the 1" BL isn't enough to cause any kind of grief (well, unless it's me that's installing it, then I end up in the ER /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif )

That's just my opinion, but I think that had I not had the 1" BL, I would have bought one...

I considered it, but I said screw it and cut the hole. Like I said, i don't care, if it were anything but my totally offroad rig I would have put the 1" on. I may still put it on someday.

Yeah, that 1" BL made all the diff getting it in and all.

Plus now I have enough room to sit under my rig with only 2.5" of lift.

Now I need more lift, but that means both driveshafts have to be replaced! /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

how tall are you man? I can't sit under my K5 and I've got 4" springs with 39.5s and fully rotated. well I can sit under it but not under the tcase for sure

I know DP_90 sells these things, does anyone know how much he does them for. I would be really interested in getting the ring from him, I absolutely love the idea of a big flat plate for my underbelly skid plate.

I can sit under the body, not the case. I'm only 5'9" with a loooow center of gravity.

However my goal is to be able to park my Fiero under the truck someday! /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

This is probably a dumb question, but do you have to drain the tranny to remove the transfercase?

you don't have to, but its less messy if you drain it. with the clocking ring i stick and old slip yoke in the rear and just pull it out, the bolts holding the clocking ring in seals up those holes.
