Colby`s First gen Duramax 01 lb7

Boost valve we put on last week... programer we installed today.
It is a Ppe hot we bought used it was locked so we got it cheep 100.00 We sent it in to Ppe and they unlocked and upgraded it for us.
130hp is the lowest setting.... it was during a nice big rainy thunderstorm that we tried it out on.

It moves! More testing tomorrow when it's dry roads.

Truck was running a bit cool, compared to mine. Should be closer to 100, so we put in a new set of t stats and fresh dex cool.
Running where it should now.

Colby and Kate take turns driving to school. About 30 miles there and back...The Old duramax and Kate's trailblazer have been trouble free!
Makes me happy! :cool:

EC8622B8-39E4-43B9-94C4-0B811A2739FF.jpeg Just finished head gaskets on this old truck... Started Nov 1 Fished it up on the 18th Yesterday. Took about 50 hrs in my spare time, averaged out to 2.5 hours a day.
Didn’t take too many pictures. But it is a big job!
Worked out great! And all is good again.
Spent just under 2000.00 in parts.

So, maybe I missed it but what happened, and what all did you need to replace, or repair? I thought it was running good?
 
Ran great.
Was building pressure in the cooling system.

Replaced Head gaskets did ARP head studs, all the glow plugs and idler pulleys. One injector sleeve needed to be replaced and resealed.

We caught it early and no resurfacing was needed. Thankfully.

All those Ford 6.0 Diesel jokes aren’t nearly as funny as they used to be! Lol! Seems like a pile of Duramax guys are in the same boat.

6500 dollar job for a shop to do the job!

I think we did OK.
