i'm thinking i'm going to go to a liquidator store and pick up some used warehouse shelving - like they've got in home depot!

killer stuff.
How much clearance does the fan have to the shroud (when shut off)?

great tip - except one problemo - i got the manual tranny. does it have to be in gear? could i check the motor mount by putting a jack under the oil pan and seeing if the engine will move with respect to the frame? can a motor mount be simply purchased at an auto parts store? by mount, you're probably not referring to the metal part, but the rubber/polyurethane/whatever component of it... right? It sounds like its the motor mount. You can check it by keeping your foot on the brake, and reving the motor alitle while in drive. You will see the motor jump on one side. If you keep the hood open you should be able to see it from the drivers seat.

i don't have internet at the house anymore... so it makes my responses a bit slower.![]()
good tip. i didn't know that. why is that the case?Word of advice, if you're going to go with poly mounts for the engine or trans then all the mounts should be poly.
Off Road Design sells some nice engine mounts. They're on the "some day" list for Big Ugly.
