I'm thinking about the Jeep again. My K5 is stripped out, narrowed and still weighs 5480 with no cage yet.

44" tires now too, and the K5 frame keeps threatening to break in half.
Goes anywhere it fits, prollem is it doesn't fit. I have a buddy with a tube chassis buggy with the same drivetrain as I that weighs 3700. I know I won't get that low, but... I'm getting tired of trailering it all the time too. I want less body but streetlegal (removable fender extensions).
One issue I have now is that the driver tire hits the steering box on the K5. If I use the Jeep frame, this will no longer be an issue, but the frame will have to be beefed and stretched in the middle and the ends. Could chop a 1 ton chevy frame I have and go full hydro, but already have assist.
I'd like about 115" WB, or at least K5 WB. Gotta have room for fullsize drivetrain, gonna have a doubler eventually too. Wonder how goofy it would look if I left the body alone and extended the frame at the ends and just moved the axles out. Would keep it low, which is another goal.
