convertible top strap vibration cure???

the rear hold down straps on my convertible top vibrate to the tune of a bad guitar when the sides and back are rolled up. anybody got a cure for this, it seems to be a problem when traveling over 20 mph

I've got a buddy that had that problem with his Jeep's bikini top - His cure was to zip-tie a couple of pieces of pipe insulation around the straps - It looks butch, but it works great.

Twist a few turns in them then reconnect. This works to get rid of the noise. You might not like the looks. Give it a try. Couldn't hurt.
 
Yup, twist them, works on our boat tops up to about 50 mph, probably work on a K5 top too. Seems like 1-2 full turns is plenty.
