Hey all! I figured I'd add another build to the site. :D For those that would like to see the progress up till now go here: http://www.pavementsucks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?topic=107652&start=0 So from here I'll just start on what I accomplished today. I started on the front D60 swap today. That thing is heavy as all get out! I managed to get her in place though. I also added some driving lights under the bumper so that will be one less thing for the law to hound me about. :wink1:

I put a trailer light kit on a reciever rack to take care of the law back here too. They aren't too bad around here about lifted trucks, I'm just doing this as a precaution since they go by headlight height here intead of bumper height. :D What do y'all think?

Go right ahead! I'm sure it's not the first time it's been done. I have an extra drop hitch that I'm going to bolt a 3 foot or so section of angle between the drop and the ball and mount a set of trailer lights on each side of the angle for the same purpose. Ought to work out good. :D

Thanks, I use the hitch rack for firewood for camping. I have extras around because I keep tearing them off my trailer backing into things and driving my four wheeler over them. Lots of new lenses too. Your truck looks awesome! Makes me miss my 88 1 ton blazer. 10" of lift with 38" TSL Radials.

Well I got the 60 in and bolted up. the shocks are bolted down but I stil have to do the brake lines and hook up the steering once I get the steering box swapped out. That will probably happen later today, it's getting pretty warm outside.

Well I got everything hooked up but the brake lines. I still need to take my sway bar off and secure the hydro assist lines and get new fittings put on my steering box hoses so I can hook that up. I also got my parts in from Kert at DIY4X yesaterday morning. His products are stout as hell and look great! I"m going to try and get them primed and painted today when I get off work.

Got the shackle flip installed and the 14 bolt in and back on the ground. Because of my body lift, I didn't have to drop my gas tank. Everything came off and went back togther really well. A big thanks to Kert at DIY4X for making a great product. I think it looks great!

I'm going to keep them as a spare set. They are starting to dryrot and one has a sidewall repair. I'm supposed to be getting a set of 15x10 black 8 lug steelies on the cheap to throw them on.

I've got some Bart's ordered but they won't be here for about another 4 weeks. :( If you know where I could get some 15x14, 8 lug chrome Bart's at a steal let me know!

Your rig looks great. Color combo is awsome, too. Is there any way to put on a type of clear-coat to the shackle flip? I think it looks so killer in the bare metal with all the welds and the color from the heat of the welding and all. Is there an option such as clear coat that would still not let the metal rust? Nice job on it all.

Thanks! I've always had a soft spot for dark met. blue and gray/silver two tone paint. I thought about the exact same thing you did with the flip though. I'm sure there's a way to do it but then I figured that it would be too much of a pain when touching up paint on the frame so I primed them with Ind. Rustoleum and painted them gloss black with the same IR.

Just found out instead of being shipped out last friday and getting here tomorrow, my zero rates got shipped out last night and aren't expected to arrive until tuesday (the 2nd). Oh well, ORD must have been really busy. No biggie, it just gives me time to concentrate on some other small things. So does anyone have pics of a driver's side battery tray installed on an older Chevy? I need to install the one I just got but the canister is in the way. Just wanted to know what some of y'all have done in this instance. Thanks!

I would just weld new tabs on your tie-rod. you need a better cover then the one you have now, so why not spend it wisely. :D Or get a new HD tie-rod while you are at it and weld tabs to that.

you are planning to rock crawl this when you are done right? :wink1:
