Copasetic's 90 K5 Build Up - 1/24/08

There was a thread on here that had a link to a table for how much to use. I'll see if I can find it. I figured it up when I put mine in there and I have 1.1 lbs in each tire. And they are cheaper than the Dyna beads. Only thing I don't like about it is when you're riding 10-15 mph you can here them fall on the inside of your wheels. Sounds like a mariachi band rolling down the road. :haha:

EDIT:
Here's the link to the chart: http://www.innovativebalancing.com/BigTirechart.htm It says 14 oz for my application but I bought 2 of the containers of the bb's and divided them up into 4 equal parts and they came out to 1.1 lbs each so that's what I threw in.

what can you use to measure ounces? how well do they work for you? any vibrations at all?

My Mom is a cafeteria manager at a high school here so I used one of their digital scales. Tared the containers and made 4 even portions. After the tires heat up there is little to no vibration at all. Very smooth. :waytogo: I finally got my Dad to ride in it a couple weeks ago and he's THE world's biggest pessimist. He was like "Damn, this thing does ride good!" Needless to say I was thrilled. :D

gotcha.. i knew that, i was just thinkin you meant the heat effected the pellets inside or something lol :doah: dont mind me, its 10pm and i just got off work and im beat

Hahaha! Not a problem. I know what you mean though. I'm tired as hell too. I worked 7p to 7a last night, got off this morning and had to be back in here at 3p. I'm about to get out of here though. I'll sleep good tonight.

And there was LIGHT!

Well I've all but finished my switch plate. I've got it all wired up but I still have to put the sides on and clean everything up with zip ties. I even pre-wired the switches for my line locks and electric fans and also have my wire qround up and tied together for when I get ready to hook my tranny temp gauge up. I can't wait to see it at night! Naturally I have one damn light that isn't working. Dunno if it's a bad ground or a bad light. I'd study it but I'm on nights this week and I still haven't went to bed yet. I got started on this about 8:30 this morning and just got caught up in it. Let me know what y'all think!

man I like the switch panel, might have to steal your idea:bow:

Thanks man! I thought about trying to put the fuse block on the front of the console under my switches and gauges but as you can see I wouldn't have had the room for it. I mounted the fuse block on the inside of the console on the front. It's out of the way and if by chance I blow a fuse all I have to do is pull my cupholder off and switch it out. The in cab winch controls are going to be connected tomorrow. I've already got the wires ran for it. :waytogo:

Night shots of the lights

I got the one light working that wasn't. It didn't have a good ground since it grounds itself when you bolt it on vs. running a separate wire. Here's some night shots.

if ou didnt have tailights, it would look like a close encounter coming over the trees instead of your truck.

Haha it looks like a moster truck parked on top of a little car when all you can see is the lights, could have some fun with that... Thats a good idea for the fuse, easy and fast access. Id like to copy your panel and do in cab winch controls but I havent seen anyone do it yet for a hydraulic winch.

x2, that was my first impression as well. That will get your attention coming over the hill at midnight!

Exhaust

Got my headers out on and my exhaust ran today! :D I'm picking up my front drive shaft in a couple weeks then I'll be set. My 200 amp alternator ought to be here any minute as well. :haha:
