Crew cab. Use it or lose it.

OK, Kert.... I'd like to get your measurements, how wide did you space the tubes out? I'm thinking the tubes on the bed should be further apart so one has better footing and won't slip off and skin his/her shin. Similar to the DPI trailriders model.... if you could space the tubes out like that then it'll work for me. I'm not sure how well that will look on a SRW truck though....

I know it's a one off design and not in production, but I'm almost convinced to order a set and I'd like to know if they are a bolt on affair, instead of welding to the sheetmetal.

Well, the stantion tubes are 3.5" from corner of the rect. tube to inside of the slider tube. So overall, they'd be 4.375" out from the rect. tube.

The ones you see here are welded on to the sheet metal.

Sweet! I thought it was wider than that. I'll hit you up with a PM when I have cash to burn 'cause I'm really likin' those sliders.

haha this is a great quote....this will be one of the stoutest, heaviest, capable, etc....tow rigs ive seen. i mena diff covers, beadlocks, sliders etc. dang:bow:

Thanks bud!

Stopped by the body shop this morning to check out the progress on the box. They are moving along pretty nicely. Dropped the box off to them on Wednesday.... I think....

Some info, pics to follow in the next couple days.

Transfer case now shifts with a push of a button or two.

Linear actuators worked out nicely, only ran into one hiccup while setting it up today. One of the control/display wiring harnesses had a wire disconnected at the terminal. I'll have to get a replacement for that. Other than that it worked out pretty simple really.

I have to admit Kert I am concerned about the weather/mud affecting the actuators. Have you done anything in veiw of that? Maybe as simple as a splash sheild? Are you using weather proof/resistant conectors? Im sure you have already thought about all this, but Im curious.

The actuators themselves are sealed pretty good. There may be one place I would do some addtional sealing. Right where the wiring enters the actuator. Outside that, all other connections will be in the cab.

I'm hearin' ya though. At this point there is only one way to know. I don't believe I would be very optimistic on a trail rig. This one will see very little offroad duty. Nothing worse than a gravel road 99% of the time.

We did manage to mount them in a pretty protected place, which you'll see in the pictures.

I'm short some hardware to finish it up. Hopefully Monday night I can get some pictures and maybe vid of one working.

weatherpak connectors are gold for making water dirt tight connections

Agreed!

The connection at the actuator itself is not designed to be unplugged. That being the case, Not too much I can do to further waterproof it. Maybe smear a little silicone around the end. Outside of that, all the connections are inside so good to go there.

Kert, thats what we did on alot of our Terragator and Sprayer connections that entered stuff. Silicone holds up alot better then you would think too.
