Crew cab. Use it or lose it.

I reallly like the narrower beadlock rings, looks good!

Thanks Heath. I like it too. Definitely easier to reach the valve stems on the duals.

Next step is getting the front axle swapped out for the HP60. It's regeared already. Needs to be reassembled and installed. Gona try to slide it forward an inch or so to get some tire clearance.

Out of curiosity only, why not? Again, only curious.....

Never really have liked the look of those wheels. And to be quite honest, that's most of what this truck is. The look. It's not particularly the most convenient tow rig, although, with the new gears, I think it will pull that duty much better. Too dumb big to go wheeling in.

Besides that, I'd have to widen two more wheels. I'd rather not if I can help it.

You know, that got me thinking, it would be so bad ass to do a "mild" diy4x truck! Just something that uses as much of your products as possible but is more of a stock truck. something just on 35's-37's that could be a daily driver / trial rig. Same paint as the crew and blazer tho! You could do the B52's in the front, flip and switch in the rear with a wrapter and so on! Bah! Oh well. I know your busy. Tell ya what, you finance it and i'll put it together and promote with it!

We have that truck at the shop right now actually. Just no time to actually put it together.

You've probably already seen it in this picture that was posted earlier.

I got ya! Thanks for satisfying my curiosity! :waytogo:

It's all good Dave, I saw that, and the fact that he mentioned the wraptor, the shackle flip, the shackles, etc, and I thought of your rig! :thumb: The only thing is, your rig really isn't that mild, you've changed everything and it has 42s or something.

Just got back from a weekend trip to my Brother's house. Crew cab performed excellent. 225 miles one way, which turned into 235 with detours and such around the flooded areas and normal road construction.

Mileage turns out to just over 9 mpg's. so, the radials and 4.88 gears didn't have much impact on mileage one way or the other however, it's pretty easy to keep pace on the interstates now. I don't think that is so bad considering what it is.

9mpg outta that beast or 11.5 outta my 99 6.0....I give you the nod sir!

Thanks Dave!

There were some pretty decent hills so I kinda got a feel for what it'd do on some decent climbs. Obviously nothing like the rockies but best I can do around here for testing.

In overdrive with it tached up to around 2300 rpm's it'll accelerate up the hill and pick up speed as you climb. If you get into the climb much less rpm's than that, it'll hold it but won't gain MPH. Never did have to down shift to pull the hill.

Quite a difference from the previous gearing, tires and all the other small changes that have been made.

Was also pretty mild mannered in town in the stop and go traffic. Temp stayed a steady 180 degrees. Lots of room for ambient temperature changes and increases in work load.

I guess I can get my uncle started on the next phase of the project. Get the axle swapped out for the HP60 so I can have a front drive shaft this winter.

Power is king when you need it for sure, that's when you don't really worry much about mileage. Everyday driving, sure gimme another couple mpg's.
And the new 60HP, nice.

Sounds like it's working good Kert, awesome. Do you know how much that bad boy weighs?
