Crew cab. Use it or lose it.

Sounds like it's working good Kert, awesome. Do you know how much that bad boy weighs?

Last time I weighed it, right at 7000 lbs. Should be slightly heavier now. NV4500 is heavier than the t400. Slightly heavier tires as well.

I'll see if I can get a fresh weight in the next few days.

DAMN. JUST READ THIS WHOLE SAGA!!!

thing looks tight as hell and the 37s def make it look much better, and apparently ride better too.

You know, that got me thinking, it would be so bad ass to do a "mild" diy4x truck! Just something that uses as much of your products as possible but is more of a stock truck. something just on 35's-37's that could be a daily driver / trial rig. Same paint as the crew and blazer tho! You could do the B52's in the front, flip and switch in the rear with a wrapter and so on! Bah! Oh well. I know your busy. Tell ya what, you finance it and i'll put it together and promote with it!

The suspension is mostly stock, but this is what it would look like. :haha:

'84 1-ton that has a lot of Kert's handiwork in/on it...and the paint is 2-3 shades lighter than the CC and Blazer.

I have another build in mind but I don't think I'll be able to do much with it for a while.

Quit the teasing!!!!

Actually, you may have seen some pics of the starting point for that build. They are on here. Just not much said about them. The photo was of something else and the starting point for that build was sitting there.

Kert, couple questions on the rig.... how has it towed with the flip in the back? anything noticable?

and what size tire are you running again?

I get body roll but I attribute that to the inboarded rear springs rather than the flip itself. As far as load capacity in the straight line over rough roads, tows great. I've also added air bags to the rear to up the capacity. They are a slow response valve.

I intend to add a sway bar which should help things out just right.

37" military radials.

So, it would seem my crew cab drive train coupled with the new gears and a good bit of traction on dry pavement has developed an appetite for 14BFF spiders, and side gears.

Nom, nom, nom. :dunno::doah:

Dave, this is why I didn't do a burn out at your meet -n- greet. Lord knows I wanted to.

Wow...that's honestly impressive. Not really something you can upgrade unless you go to a locker either. :(

Look what the cat dragged in!

yeah, sucks. No locker in the future of the crew cab so I think I'll just have to deal with it. I guess no more burnouts.

Yeah yeah, I always laughed at you silly adults and life getting in the way of everything. I'm responsible to and for multiple organizations and a LOT of people right now. The upside is that I have actual income at this point.

Anyway, I know it's a ****ty option, but there is the AAM 11.5 these days if you can't stop the 10.5 from grenading.

Hadn't considered that, but interesting.

Time for a dana 80 kert, I nuked a couple 14 bolts with a hopped up 1st gen dodge I used to have and the spider gears just couldn't handle 800 ft/lbs. I swapped in the 14 bolt cause the 70 couldn't take it and then after the 14 came the dana 80 and that ended my axle issues...

Well I did have an extra set of spiders out of my 14 when I put the Detroit in it. The should be easy to find, but not so fun to change I guess.
so if you up the rear, what is the next weak link?

Sooner or later the weak link has gotta be the traction.

I could do the spider swap but I am concerned the axle is no longer true. I may just go ahead and swap out the axle.
