Crew cab. Use it or lose it.

The valve train on the caddy engines is a large limiting factor on there red line changing the shaft mounted rockers to somthing else can give you a larger RPM range

You want for me to bring those u-bolts Sunday? :D

I don't think I'll be turning it that hard anyhow. Thanks for the info though.

Stomper, I picked up a set of ubolts today so no sweat there.

do you make front rar spring mounts or is that just the stockers painted???

Will be doing a front mount in the near future for a 52 swap. The pictures are the stockers from 79 4x4. Painted and transplanted.

This truck started life as a C20 Crew.

When its all said and done its will be a K30 4x4 dually 6" lift, 36 x 12.5's with cadillac power as opposed to 6.2 diesel.

Must have update pics!!! I've been following along and I must say that I'm excited to see how the project is coming along.

are you shortening the bed at all or are you leaving it full length?

Haven't gotten back too it for a week or so now.

It's all staying full length. Had a shortbed once and it just wasn't enough cargo space for hauling duties plus the shorter wheelbase didn't lend itself to towing.

Since this 1-ton crew cab truck is getting your new shackle flips, does this mean you have them for 1-tons now?

tell us about those rear spring, front buckets Kert. they look pretty cool.

It's actually a 2 wheel drive frame so I couldn't be certain that the bolt pattern is the same. I do have a one ton frame to pull the pattern from, just haven't gotten too it yet.

This shackle flip has also moved the springs under the frame to make room for more tire.

Pretty simple really. Dropped a bracket down the side of the frame to catch all the bolt holes and built a cup underneath for the spring and then added some pieces to the side to remove side deflection. Most unusual part is the 2 wheel drive spring bucket you see is tied into 10 rivet holes per side where as the 4 wheel drive counterpart would only have 6 or 8 can't remember for sure.

Alot of stuff on the 2 wheel drive chassis seems heavier built than the 4 wheel drive chassis. Can't quite make sense of it but it sure seems that way.

Very nice work, looks great.

What sound deadening/insulation material are you using in that first pic? Will the carpet go directly over that?

Thanks,
Dave

That sound deadening stuff is alot like the dynamatt stuff but from a flooring place. Pretty cheap comparatively. Carpet went right over it. Takes a little more time to fit into place but I'm pretty happy with it.

Not sure of the brand. It was an underlayment of some sort. My brother works there so I'll ask him tomorrow.

Worked on it pretty much all day yesterday. Got a little more to do today so hopefully we can light the fire today.

Here's a couple shots of the shocks mounted up on the rear of the crew cab. Managed to sneak these in last night about 9p.m. :doah: I hope you all have as understanding of a significant other as I do!
