Crew cab. Use it or lose it.

I'm hoping to get 7ish....I just hope the friggin' oil co.'s keep it around $3 a gal...it could be an expensive trip @ 7/$3, let alone 6/$4....ouch.

I've thought about a cummins many times. Not quite ready to give up on the cadillac just yet.

I'll definitely make the wing adjustable. Not much harder to do it that way.

Sorry, it look like it is not going to happen. Damn evil bastards.

You can thank obummer - he put a 7 year moratorium on new drilling in the gulf for American companies...

We have China, any number of South American cos., hell even Cuba and Viet Nam are drilling there, but not us...nooooo

We gave Brazil stimulus $$$ to drill new wells in the gulf :doah:

I listened to the former CEO of Shell, he's saying $5.00 is not far off.

Maybe the new congress can do sumthin, idk....:dunno:

As much I like hearing people discuss who is at fault about raising fuel prices, and I'm also at fault also by posting the link. I've made a thread in the political section about the subject.

Hopefully, gas prices won't raise that high, but that may be a dream.
Now, let see Cyberfire has up his sleeve to improve his fuel mileage during these troubling times.

Front clip has been removed along with the factory radiator over flow tank, windshield washer tank and pump, rusted inner fenders and battery trays.

Will be replacing the AC compressor while all that is out of the way. Then in with replacement fender wells. Plan to construct an aluminum overflow tank and windshield washer fluid resevoir. Working on some aluminum battery trays to replace the rusty factory ones.

Then a '91 front clip goes back on.

Axles are getting regeared to 4.88:1's. Got some JFP 37" radials to replace the 36" bias plys.

ditto!

Blower motor has been swapped out and the new inner fenders are in. Not much progress and nothing really sexy to show. Just forward motion.

Sweet, new blower motor!

Oh you mean heater fan right..:haha:

Any progress is good progress Kert:waytogo:

Started drooling instantly over a blown bb. Shoulg have stopped reading and kept dreaming. Now I feel a little let down.:doah:

All the engine accessories are back in place with improved belt adjusters.

The radiator core support has had a few pieces grafted in to make it complete and rust free. AC condenser and aluminum radiator are bolted in to it. Should make for a nice way to design and build a shroud for the fans.

Got a header gasket to replace and a distributor to install and then I believe the front end is ready to go back together again.

Kert are you running windstar fans or aftermarket. Just wondered why you need to build a shroud?

They were aftermarket fans and they still maybe but windstars were discussed. I'm not sure if he got the wind stars yet or not.

Haven't gotten the windstars yet. In the meantime I may make a shroud for my existing electrics. They do the job well enough. Just thought a little less amp draw and more air flow wouldn't hurt.

I do miss driving my truck though.

I guess I wouldn't worry about windstars if you got fans to do the job now. Didn't you have just one on the K5?
I didn't notice what you have on the CC.
Can't wait to see this truck again.

Blazer had dual 12" fans. Crew cab has dual 16's.

The twin 16's put side by side are just slightly larger than the core. That was my only concern.

Can they be staggered hi/low slightly or will your plan for a shroud take care of the width problem anyway?
