Crew cab. Use it or lose it.

Damn it Kert, I love your truck...

If I hit the lotto, I'm gonna build a Cummins version of it. Love that color...:bow::bow:

hey Kert, I looked back thru the thread but missed it... What did you do about a fuel tank? is it in the bed, still underneath?

he has a 100gal tank in the bed. blackwater tank of course!

Man why did this pop back up. I already spent enough money this week. Now i'm thinking about putting a 50 gal diesel tank in the bed of my tow rig. :doah::doah:

this thread now has it's own permanent tab in my browser..... ;)

I want that wheel/rim combo....

hahaha, Paul you could really appreciate all the sh!t Kert does to his trucks. You have to see them...so many little details and trick stuff.

love Kert's work.... this is gonna be the first dually I've ever built... basically I want Kert's rig, but with the tube/utility bed I've been babbling about... main consideration at this point is back rims, whether to inboard the springs, how big a tire, who can do custom rims, etc, etc...

and also what to do about the fuel situation.... I'd like to eliminate the dual factory tanks and do a custom single incorporated into the tube bed.. but I've gotta get the rig in front of me first....

I'd also like to shorten the wheelbase just a tad if easy enough.. and I'm certainly gonna chop as much off the back of the frame as possible...

I'm curious as to how much that bumper cost because it would look badass on my stepside :D. Just needs holes for the bumper blinkers that the 82 year trucks have and it would be perfect.

I think I can perfect the process. Just need one more go at it. I have a collection of 16.5 dually wheels now. Thanks Dave!!

Thanks again Dave. They're never really finished though are they.

Mikeydo5 and I were really scheming on a tube bed at one point for my crew cab. Did some 3d renderings and played around with the design but in the end, the further it went the more it became a pickup box. I do confess I like the body lines of our old Chevys.

Give me a shout some time.

Kert, I definitely would like see about doing the rim setup down the road a bit... but this will be a daily driven rig the majority of the time, so I have to limit my down times to weekends... so, the first step I would need to see about is the spring inboarding...

could you make up another flip and hangar setup for me like yours has? what springs did you run and how much lift out back ya think ya got in the end?

I'm pretty sure I still have all the drawings for the parts so pretty sure it could all be reproduced. I have a solid 6" lift in the suspension. Springs are a saggy stock rear 56 that is about to be replaced. Also have a set of air bag assists in the rear. They are on a "slow response" type of valve that maintains ride height but doesn't get bucky.

yeah, it's all up in the air at this point.. I'm also contemplating a link/bag set up too..

thanks for the inspiration!!!! :woot:  :haha:

I hadnt seen this. Looks great man! Im really thinkin of makin a bumper to save my front end from any deer... We shall see.

wondered what brought this back up.

Haven't drove it for a while now. I think last time was when Dave Zimmer was out here.

Fuel pressure regulator stop regulating and haven't had the time nor the need to fix it yet. Parts are in hand but the time is not.

There is a little more to come yet.

HP60 swap is coming up.
Aluminum dash is waiting for me which ushers in a whole bunch of upgrades for the interior.

Maybe some fuel injection at some point.
