Crew cab. Use it or lose it.

So there's no turning back now.... Errr, maybe there is!

Since it's sitting there and it does have a crew cab. How's the floor clearance with the crew cab (and suburban) for a 208 being clocked?

I have a low (2.5 inch) lifted suburban and I am considering clocking the 208 for under vehicle clearance.

Our clocking rings, you can clock to the first position, raising the front output about 2.5" without really doing any floor clearancing.

Second position is a different story. Some floor mods required there.

Sounding more and more like what I should do next once the bumpers are done. It's a 88 half ton suburban w/ 700r4, 208, and 10 bolts.

Obviously nothing changes in the rear, will I need to do much else other than first position clocking? I hear possibly raising the shifter an inch is enough to get it lined up.
I'm guessing with the 2.5 lift and the 2.5 case rotation should equate to 5 inches of front drive shaft change. Anything specifically to keep and eye on?

that's the cab I'd use on your other frame:D

similar to Willard but with shortened fenders that will fill the rear of the body line just a tad.:waytogo:

just a thought:haha:

adjustments to the shifter will be required. Aside from that, you'll want to keep an eye on front driveshaft lengths with your 5". Probably need to lengthen the shaft.

I wasn't using it so, pretty much already lost. Partin' it out and some of it will go into the new build.

Awesome it will live on again in other rigs. Do you plan on keeping that new gooseneck or do you plan on downsizing to a bumper pull?

The build plan makes the goosneck impossible and at the same time, for what little I trailer, bumper pull will do the job.

Got the radiator, fans, old batteries and some other small parts removed from the engine bay. Won't be long we'll be pulling the rest of the drivetrain.

Are you selling the cab?

Cab, box, fenders, hood.... All that.

If it doesn't get purchased soon, i'll start using those pieces as well. I could use the hood, windshield, rad support... etc.

This is exactly why I'm trying to hang on to my 89' sq body crewcab. Want to build a 4 door. Dig the K5 and want to finish it. But love a 4 door for storage and gear. For the dog, whatever. I think we all have a thing for crewcabs lol. I love'um lol.
