Crews and worthy rigs Around the country

Dang that's a crazy find. Of course I analyzed the video for truth, any reason this truck would have the diesel gauge cluster surround?
At least they never claimed that the odometer didn't roll.
It just says what it shows.
I could believe 1550 miles, or 15500 miles but 155 is rolled over

Carfax only has 4 items, which of course support the claim (ie: numbers arent out of order). Either way, its super clean

Carfax was available that far back?
I doubt it.
Plus I had a couple of experiences with bad carfax reporting, I was talking to the dealer and he said, the carfax says it's clean, I asked him if he guarantees that it's true, he said he just provides the report. And after having an accident and showing previous repairs I don't trust carfax.

carfax shows 34 miles in 1986. Carfax itself didnt have to be around, just someone had to document mileage back then in some sort of system, and carfax picks that data up.

Sorry - what i was trying to say was carfax supports their claim of 155 miles, but doesnt necessarily mean its accurate. Only 2 data points with mileage checks on the carfax so it gets the green light of no mileage discrepancies.

I've had two gasser rigs with the extra lights in the cluster bezel. An '83 K5 and an '86 454 Suburban. Can't say about the K5, but I know the '86 Burb bezel was original. Oddly, I also had an '86 K20 Suburban and it didn't have it. Neither does my '84 C10.

The extra lights in the cluster are warning lights on mid 85-86 with electronically controlled carburetor and ignition.

My '86 454 didn't have the electronic carb or distributor. But it did have the dual smog pump system, which I sort of remember reading that the extra light was for that system. I don't recall what either of the lights said in them, they never came on for bulb test. Iirc, one was just a blank spot.

It might have been something to do with the dual smog pumps. The only ones that I can remember having it was the ones that had the dual smog pumps and computer controlled carburetor/ignition. They also but the carbureted dual smog pump engines in some 87 and newer trucks. The only ones I have seen are 1 ton 454. I don’t know if they had the carbureted 350 after 86 or not or if it was in anything smaller than a 1 ton. The had a different vin number for the engine.

Huh, interesting... I didn't know that cab lights were an option for half ton trucks! Pretty cool.
