For those who worries about bending tie-rods, here's a vid for you:D
I wonder what that tie rod is made of...:eek1:

Looks like Aluminum. Good AL like 7075 will take that kind of hit and go back almost totally straight. Also depending on how far it could go before it hit something solid like the axle housing it could be DOM but the shiny look says Al to me.

44 stock knuckles cross over , high steer, hydro assist. I have a stock tie rod that has been bent every time it's seen a trail.

High steer...I bent one too many tie rods on the rocks.
On my D44 I used Reid knuckles and a complete high steer kit from ORD.

Now with the D60 build underway, I am using the stock knuckles, Ballistic Fab long steering arms on both sides, cutting down/re-threading the ORD tie rod and drag link, and installing hydro-assist.

I have High steer with Hydro Assist, 42's , Stock 60 knuckles, Poison Spyder arms that are bolted on.

Have not had any problens with any of it....but i carry a pair of knuckles as trail spares :waytogo:

One thing that strikes me regarding hi-steer, is that the TREs would be subjected to bigger forces because of the shorter arms...
Twice the force with some arms it seems.
Do they hold up for this?

And a slight play in one of the TREs would also be twice as noticeable...
