ok this is your typical newbie question. is there any way possible to just use my original 4wd steering box for crossover. moneys kinda tight to the point i wont have any to spend on a 2wd box, but im possiably gettin a 60 for the front pretty soon and i was wantin to do crossover when i put the axel under my k5 if i could afford it

You need a new box or swap a 2wd sector shaft into your existing box.

If you are building a 60 surely you know a steering box will be cheap compared to everything else right? :)

yea i know. im gettin a good deal on the 60 or well a set of cucv axles so all my funds will end up goin to them. im probably just gona end up runnin factory set up for a while and see how that does. it mostly gets used for hills and mud anyways so no serious flexin like rocks.

I got 2 for free!! They are out there. At least around here they are. Lots of rusted out older chevys. I have a spare. It's a flare line style, not the o-ring one. You're welcome to it, but shipping would probably be more than finding one in a junk yard locally! Let me know, and I will find out how much from here. I need a zip code though>

Just keep an eye out for a 2wd one. Check junk yards and craigslist.

I got mine for free too.
