Cummins/Allison/Rockwell/Planetaries/Peterbilt.....paint job completed

Ok, Threw a BD fuel pin in the pump, backed off the full throttle limit screw a couple of turns, adjusted the star wheel, and turned the full fuel screw 1.5 turns in. It's got way more power than before, we think around 225HP+ or so. I started to let out of the throttle half way through 2nd gear in the video. Got my pyro wired up and can't seem to get past about 750* running up and down my driveway. I will find out when I get into the mud weighing in at 15 tons and in the throttle.

Well, not a lot to update really, but I did use this rig a fair amount this fall and it hauled about one million pounds of rice out of the field for it's first harvest.

As expected, there are a few issues to work out this winter on it. The steering is still not exactly right. I broke one of the steering arms and had to re-weld it to make it through the season. I will be moving the hydro cylinders down to the axles themselves, to take a big chunk of the pressure of the steering linkage system. Another issue is with the unloading auger where it folds over. There is a locking mechanism that locks the two sections of the vertical auger together. I had problems with this mechanism unlocking and plugging up as it seems to not like the high speed Chelsea PTO drive that I have, before on the old rig, the augers turned really slow and it wasn't a problem. That shouldn't be hard to fix though.

Outside of that, everything else worked great. Great A/C, engine and trans stay perfectly cool even when we were harvesting in some near record setting 99* heat in late September. Power seems to be good too, I have no plans to hop up the pump anymore. Completely loaded down weighing around 30K, I could do 10mph through 12" of mud no problem.

Here are a couple of cell phone shots I was able to take, not the best, but it's all I could manage to get. Fall is hectic around here.

i think you should extend the platform on both sides to the front of the headlight area and then do the latter down. help fill in that area and also give you a good platform to stand on working on stuff or hanging out waiting for loads.

Got a few things done so far this winter. I had some 1" thick steel tabs made up, and got them welded on and the rams moved, hoses extended, etc. It was more difficult than I thought with trying to get the travels all right. The steering does feel more solid now. But I won't find out until October of next year when I can put 15,000 lbs of weight in the tank, then I will really know.
Also got a nifty tool box installed. Came off my 9380 Case Quad track. Got to have a tool box.

I also built an "overload assist." It's a coil spring from a 1/2ton Chevy. The problem was when trying to unload while parked on a hill, parallel with the hill, all the grain would unload on the high side (usually the passenger side) and leave the left side full. Combined with the weight of the vertical auger that sticks way out, this would cause the left rear leaf spring to sag really bad putting a twist in the frame and making it feel spooky from the drivers side, and also make it that much more difficult to get the left side of the bin empty.

The idea is that my spring assist deal will help keep the left rear corner from being able to sag too far down, making it unload quicker.

Well I finally got it all painted. It took 6 gallons of paint, cost me a damn fortune.:doah:

New hitch. Top clevis is for pulling out stuck 80,000lb grain trucks and the bottom standard receiver is for pulling the service truck/header trailer.

Couple shots of it bagged up.

Here's an update. This rig has been going strong and hard the last 2 seasons. It's hauled about 500 loads like the one in the video, or approximately 7,000,000 lbs of rice.
