I cut mine and just left them ,now I'm starting to regret it . I kinda want my truck nice now

I have 4" and 33 TSL, since i removed my sway bar my tires hit when i pull into parking lots. time for the sawzall :hack: while i'm at it i think i'll make room for 38 boggers :hack: :grind: I had bushwackers on my old K5, they are good for a street truck...but they do not play well with trees, rocks, or any other hard object. not to mention they are tad fragile during the winter months.

How bad did you hack them? Lets see pics. Maybe you could trim them with fender welt (sp) to give it a more finished look. Has anyone done this to make the edges cleaner, as in so it won't cut my 2 yr. old if she's playing around my truck.

spend some time with a flapper wheel, some sandpaper and a metal file and you can make the edges quite safe without expert body-man skills. You can run your hand across my cut lines just fine without injuring your fingers.

I say if you like your truck, figure out where you want to take it and what you want and expsect it to do when you take it out,

haveing the chance, I would have kept my 75 as a capable trail truck that looked good, then built one to wheel.

once you start playing with the :hack:it is hard to put it down,

:D

ive got 6 inch superlift less than a year of breaking in and ive had my 35's rubbing but barely, 36's and 37's i would trim... if you do it right it will look really good... just try to find the body lines......

i run a 4" with zero rates pushed out in front with a 3" body lift and rub alittle on the fire wall at full stuff and lock. i can live with it, not alot of rocks in iowa.

this might be a little much for you but my buddy runs a 6" with 39.5" tsls. he trimmed verry little, not a wheeling rig, but it's his D.D. however he is running 4 1/2" backspace on his rims.

If you dont cut your fenders, they will cut your expensive tires. Which would you rather spend money on, sawzall blades and tin snips or 300$ a piece for tires. Nothing sucks more then a slice on your new swamper on the first trail! I bring a portable sawzall with me on the trails just in case.

i have 6" lift with 38.5" tires and i cut about 4 1/2" off the front fenders(on the bottom), just take ur time and u can make it look good. ill try to get some pics of mine for u.

Anybody notice how old this post is?:D Anyhow I run a 3" TC lift and 37" MT/R's and no rubbing.

hey jason: does your friend have 3/4 ton axles and how about the rim size. i want to be able to bring my tires more under my k4 as they stick out too far with what i've got right now. mine is 14 bolt rear 3/4 outers up front. 6 inch lift with fenders cut. rims on now are 15x14 with 39.5x18x15 boggers. thanks in advance.

For those of you that do cut your fenders and quarters (only option in my opinion) be careful when swinging a hammer: say if you dont have spring clamps on and your springs fan out, you get the picture you could end up doing this to yourself :doah: all the way to the bone baby!

:wink1:  Hijacking a two year old thread.......:doah: :eek1:
Answer to your question..... Grind them smooth with a grinder or "try" to roll/fold them over.
