d 60 death wobble - leaking brakes

What extra shim are you talking about? Can you get a pic of it? He said he does have a steering stabolizer. What about this business of running a while without PS? Not sure if that would wear out a gear box or not.

The noise you hear spinning the tires is normal.

i just delt with this on my 07

I had a rebuilt 60 and still needed some shims..now I have zero death wobble and I dont even have a steering stab too.

the wheel dragging less on one side could be the brakes or even the bearing preload "ignore the second one for now"

get that cap off and get it shimmed on both sides.

I agree shim the other king pin. How do the tie rod ends look? Put the front end up on jack stands and see if there is any play in the steering.

Hold my beer & watch this!

here's a pic of that extra shim. not sure what side it goes. i'm doing the shackle flip on the rear tonight so i'll do the other stuff too while im at it.

Check your spring packs, if you have one of those shims on one side and not on the other, that is probly your problem.

i had a bad death wobble on mine. i started with making sure the steering was tight. then checked brakes. after all that i check the pitman arm it had slid down some cause it wasnt tight enough, raised it back up and that helped alot but still wasnt done. after i replaced my steering stablizer it was alllll good. i sugest the same if you havent fixed it by now

hey sorry i've been pretty busy with work and all. i'm going to try and work on it some more tonight and see what I can do.

everything is pretty tight... i'll check the pitman arm for sure. i'll also do the tape measure thing and maybe it will tell me something.

with all of the advice you guys have given me it shouldnt be a problem

i'll let you know soon what happens
