d44 crossover steering/high lift worth it? should I?

I don't think it's that it works out right for me. I think you got super unlucky lol

Agreed!

Crossover is one of the best upgrades on these trucks. Not just for wheeling, but driveability in general.

Plus like I said the draglink and tie rod are interchangeable because the 60 stuff is actually shorter.

Either way the resale value on crossover stuff is good. People are always looking to pick up a used arm/knuckle.

I don't know if you have access to one but in the past on a 44 or 10 bolt I have always reamed out the stock knuckles to accept the larger one ton tie rod ends.

Then build my own tie rod. Like I said I use 1.5" .250 wall and then sleeve it with 1.75 .120 wall tube. I have had stuff like that on some pretty heavy rigs. No problems so far.

I would not use any stock tie rod out there even if you can't ream for the bigger ends at least use stock ends on a beefy tie rod

Can you expound on this with part numbers? Everything I see online shows that "Chevy 1-ton TRE" is the same part on all 1/2, 3/4 and 1-ton trucks: same threads (7/8-18) and same taper (2233 and 2234). The drag link ends are a little larger in the taper (2026 and 2027), but the same thread. Was the 1" thread really a 1-ton thing or just a year thing? I think the right is 2011, but I don't know what the left is.
