$140 with rotors!

Dana 70 disc brake conversion, Everything you see in the photo x 2!

This is a weld on kit. However, the bracket is removable after that. This way you can weld the kit on, have no spacers what so ever and still be able to remove the bracket at a later date if need be.

Both the bracket and weld flange are 3/8" thick steel. The flange is NOT threaded. This way there is no chance in damaging a thread in the flange. If a nut or bolt is to become damaged, replace and go again. Bolts are 1/2"x20tpi grade 8. Nuts are 1/2"x20tpi nyloc grade 8. Loc washers are 1/2" high alloy! Nice stuff.

This kit will include the rotors, the rotors are not an off the shelf item.

Just as a side note, If you are concerned about rotor availability, another option would be to source some 14BFF hubs for use on your axle. The hub on some Dana 70's requires a larger center hole on the rotor. This is the reason for a non standard rotor.

on to the pic!

With the weld on bracket, I assume this is "generic" in that it will work on all D70's, including the D70HD?
I like the dual caliper setup you prototyped for your towrig, how about producing that or a bracket to utilize D60 front calipers?

All a vendor would need to do is offer a weld on flange for a D70Hd that has the bolt pattern for a D60 caliper bracket. Space it yourself and use a D60 rotor. :wink1:

I'm aware of this, hint, hint, hint..........................................

ps (hijack) still thinking 'bout sellin' that cc?

I was hopin that Kert might pick up on the flange idea. :D

The cc is gone, she blongs to BulldogK5 now. He and I had talked about it back in Oct so when time came the 1st of this month we worked out a deal. Feels good, I know she got a good home and I don't have to worry about watching some local 17 yr old hack it up into a wheeler. :thumb:

D60 front calipers? the ones that use the slide in wedge system?

OK, I think I'm catching up now. A weld on flange that has the bolt pattern to reuse the d60 caliper bracket and a d60 caliper together. Not necessarily building the bracket that holds the caliper itself.

Exactly, this is basically what I did with my axle. Here is a pic of mine for the general idea but don't pay too much attention to my housing as it's been narrowed.

Heres a couple more pictures of the D-60 front rotor,caliper/bracket rear brake setup.
This one is on a 14bolt but same, steel donut with correct hole spacing welded to the tube. The old flange can be used to square, clamp and weld the new ring on.

So will it work with dually rims and tires?

Didn't get a chance to check on it today. Thursdays are bad days to get anything done. Steel deliveries, Hardware deliveries, Machine maintenance, shop cleanup day and then some corp. people from one of our suppliers showed up today. That was damn near the whole day.

Probably will need spacers... I like your pricing and have a HD D70 dually axle that I intend to run Humvee rims on using the stock backspacing so I'm also interested in what you come up with.

Everything in this thread is weld on so no spacers are required.
