Dana 70 gears in a Dana 60 front axle

I have been building 1 ton axles for 15 years and I did my first Dana 60 swap when I was 16. I wouldnt install these parts in my truck or reccomend them to other people if I thought they were going to be weak or fail prematurely. The carrier race supplied is similar to the special race that ARB uses.

he said 70 carrier or modifyed 60 carrer.

what if someone has a arb unit now and dosnt wana respend the coin on a arb for the 70. ?

what kind of work would need to be done ?

I've been considering doing this when I regear

I figure with around 500 hp mine will probably break at one time

It seems to save money to do it right the first time

Not to mention I have an extra d70 with 4.56 gears if I choose to go SRW on my tow rig build

The 70 ring gear bolt pattern is bigger then the 60. You might be able to swap half the ARB case. Carl would know.

I hope I didn't come across as insulting, that was not my intention.

Not at all. It is smart to wait a little while to see if new products work or fail.

Jantz4x4 also includes a pinion seal with the Jana76 kit. He can supply carriers- ARB, Detroit etc.., gears and complete bearing kits too.

Well, found a 70 with detroit and 5.13's in the scrap pile all brand new

I need to make sure I don't have a HD carrier then I'm going to order the kit and swap them in. I'm pretty it's a regular 70 though

:pimp:

This is a regular 70 right? Can't find any hd markings

It had sl58c so It looks like it is correct. I'll be calling jantz soon :D
