I wouldn't say " not harmfull". Long ago I broke a 10 bolt shaft driving down the streed with this bang. It probably just finished it off because I was wheelin the day before.

yep
that is the way I thought it to be.... from driving down a straight road... thought it was loaded up... then at a light... it was relaxed.. then taking off.. it unloaded on me...
either way it still scared the shaet out of me!!!!!!
A Detroit will never "unload" when you take off......applying torque to the axle should only cause it to lock back up.
