I bought this from tennessee for $2500, had brand new 32x11.5 Buckshot Maxxis Mudders with lots of meat, even had the paint line down the middle still. I had been lookin for one of these that hasnt been a rust pile for a decent price for a long time. (my dad had two when i was a kid lol).
Unfortunately it only has a 305. But does have Edelbrock carb, Edelbrock Intake Mani, and HEI disributor.
Since i bought ive put on an alternator, and Bosch IR Platinum Spark Plugs. Heard they were the best and with 11 mpg highway i thought it would be worth a try. Havnt driven anything but city so dont know if they are doin better or not.

Im looking to put a lift and some bigger tires but really i dont want it to sit too high. I want 33x12.5 BFGs and i want just a nice looking stance, Clean is the word im looking for lol. I def dont like the Light bar on top, itll prolly have to go, too southern for my taste lol, and possibly the confederate flag on the ceiling haha.

But if anybody has some nice pics of a good stance and how big a lift i would love to see them to get an idea. Hope to have more posts soon. THanks

No rust anywhere, shes just dirty from the snowy roads.

Moved to Garage, as this isn't a build thread. It's an introduction thread...

If or when you start to build it, you can start another thread in the driveway. Until then post up a few more times so you can share some pic's of your new to you K5.

I would go with a 4" lift with 33x12.50's on a 10" rim. Nice stance, and not overly tall.

i agree with rjfguitar that is about the best stance for these trucks

Yah sorry no pics yet it says i gotta post 5 replies first so...

Yah thats what i have been thinking i just wanna get some pics to make sure i dont want a little less. It has 32x11.5s now and idk if 1" will make it look that much bigger where 4 inch of lift would look like too much fender space. I just want it too look sharp, not jacked up.

Not against big lifts and tires but just not on this one. For sure on my 86 Bronco II but thats a beater POS lol.

Looks like a clean truck to start with.

Yah thanks she is pretty nice. I would REALLY love to find the GMC grill from 85, Im more of a GMC fan than the bowtie, idk why, my dad had 2 of them, and my vans a GMC lol. But i cant find one anywhere.

It also has cracked glass on both sides of the topper, but i found one for $100 thats perfect, just no way to get it lol, no trailer and a little cold here to drive an hour with the top off lol.

Update: I got the new topper lol.

Great looking K5 bro! Sounds like you've got some good plans for it! Just make sure ya undercoat the heck out of it! I've got buddies from Michigan, I've seen what y'alls salt does!!!

Yay! A chance for me to be a pic whore!!!!

A bit grainy but, here's how mine used to look at a 3" lift and 33's:

Camera date is wrong, never could set the dang thing! Anyways, that's a 3" TC lift (the full ORD kit), and some 33x12.50r15 swampers on IIRC 15x8 soft 8's. Had a good look to it, IMHO. No fender trimming necessary. Now it sits on the same 3" lift (but with a 1 ton swap so, maybe about 3/4" lift from axle tube thickness) with 37's and a bit of mild trimming (and lowered bumpstops!):
