Deulings 1985 K5 Blazer, --aka Borderline Obnoxious; Silver Lake pics and Vids

I thought I'd mention that it looks like the top radiator hose is a little high:dunno: make sure you check if it hits the hood when ya get it on and cut it shorter on the waterneck end if needed. Videos are sweet, and that thing sounds like its gonna be mean:D:woot:

Yup I know it is, I just wanted to get it broke in really badly. If you look from the side of the fender and line the tops of both fenders the hose sticks up a half inch or so. Ill have to cut and get out of the way, but the hood will be the last thing to go on so im not too worried at the moment.

But thanks buddy:thumb: I really like the rumble its got to it. Cant wait to get the exhaust on so I can actually hear the engine under the hood and not just the headers, oh and so I can hear the exhaust too :thumb:

I think those violators will live up to their name:waytogo:

Yah buddy!!! If I cant get into the dunes Ill have mixed emotions, 1 being that wow this sucks I cant get in, the other being oh yah my truck sounds too sexy to get in:thumb:

Back about 30 posts I mentioned the inserts they use for drags. they are about 5" long and what ever diam you need. If you slid a set in the tail pipes just for entry you'll be fine. See what they tell ya first though.

Hey, I'm pretty envious, I haven't heard my truck run in about 1 1/2 years, and it probably won't sound that good when it does run.

i do like how it sounds. My favorite part is how the whole thing shakes at idle. Im sure you could make yours sound like mine, open headers is all you need!! im sure all those hollanders would like that lol.

I can't see the vids, so I'll just agree with everyone, it sounds bada$$, it has to, it's a Chevy V8 with open headers! Good job getting it running. :thumb:

By the way, I would take your ground cable off the alternator bracket and hook it directly to the block down on the front, right in front of the fuel pump beside the timing cover works pretty well, make sure it's bare metal where the cable contacts the block. Have an extra several pieces in the circuit (bracket, intake, head, block, bolts, gaskets, etc) before the ground path gets to the starter is only going to invite problems.

Glad you got it running and all is ok, can't wait to hear it with your exhaust hooked up. Now if you can get your truck to look like this,

I like those push bars on that bumper. Deuling was it you that wanted to get rid of them? And did you? Oh yeah and when is the burnout coming?

i like to text and break in motors shirtless too... :surepal: :D

Haha sounds awsome dude. Don't get impatient, no more than 1/2 throttle for the first 500+ miles. Maybe more like 1000+ miles

depends on what cylinder finish and rings were installed....If its moly rings and new pistons, give it a hundred miles change the oil and hammer it.
