Deulings 1985 K5 Blazer, --aka Borderline Obnoxious; Silver Lake pics and Vids

Those stock impact bumper things for your front bumper would like nice on your truck. You can get em at LMC truck. I like the way they look on your style blazer.:waytogo::laugh:

Ill check on them. Idk if I like them or not, My van has them, but they are the ones that dont extend past the bumper, I dont really like the really tall ones. I really want a cowl induction hood, then those things would look nice I think. My hoods got a crappy spot right in the middle, so Ill keep on the lookout for a cowl one. But they are like $400 new, so no way im dropping that much on one.

I Like the top right one the most, maybe the bottom right, but the top one is pretty sweet.

Thats a nice blazer. and I second the sand the hood thing. The bad spot you got could be easily sanded out and fixed. Be harder to fix the herculiner though. The cowl hoods can be found pretty cheap online. Check ebay and CL. That would look good on it:)

Boner alert! lol. See idk if I like those things. I dont mind the ones on my van that dont go higher than the bumper, but I dont really like the ones that stick way up....

just sand the hood and paint it flat black......................

and what's up with the 408?

Um its just taking longer than expected at the machine shop.... Ugh i feel like its just draggin out and ill never get it lol. But the date he gave me when we started was near the end of april, so its not behind yet. I am getting some stainless roller rockers for it as well. He talked me out of something else I had thought of and said to spend the money on those instead. I really wish I had gotten more on my tax return, cuz i woulda just went full out roller motor :woot: Oh well.

Hey guys I got a bunch planned for tomorrow, but i first wanted to look at the t case leak. I think its the main seal around it. Can I just take the drive shaft off and split take the bolts out and split it and gasket maker it? Or does it need an actual gasket. Dont really know anything about Tcases, its a 208 btw.

Also the list goes
-TCase Leak
-Mount Scuba tank with hose and fittings for airing up tires,
-Get rear window working and down
- If that works, take top off, get some dimensions for a roll bar (need one at silver with a removable top, otherwise people in the back need helmates, even with the top on).
- Get new top on, sand down, paint flat black
- Sandblast headers and hit with high temp grill paint.
- And fab up some tow hooks, I got a set from a buddies dodge, will need some welding, but I bought a 2 lb roll of wire today so im ready for some practice lol.

Should be a darn good day, My boss is lettin me use his shop with a pit, as long as I fix the throttle cable on his dads tractor first.

You can use Ultra RTV on those aluminum Tcases I am pretty sure, I have before. But be careful, some of the older adaptors if you leave out the gasket it won't tighten up right.

Also, on the tow hooks, be careful there. If you are 100% confident in your welding that is fine, but if not, tow hooks aren't the place to practice. If they break off under load they can kill someone.

There will be 1/2" bolts at every weld, basically just making a drop for the hooks and a piece of quarter inch angle iron from frame rail to frame rail. Welds will be for added support. But ok yah thanks for the rtv tip, ill pick some up and try that cuz im sick of parking in the grass lol.

Yah man its an awesome country up their. Marquette mountain is the $hit compared to anything down here.

yeah!

we used to board at crystal mountain/caberfe (sp?)/treetops. Nothing compared to up there for sure!

Yeah I always get a weekend past to caberfae cuz its only a 1.5 hour drive from here, but marquette made that seem boring lol.

I was wondering, if I found a bigger axle somewhere for cheap that had 3.73s in it, to put behind the 408, is their a way I could still run my 6 lug rims? Adaptors or something? It would be nice to keep them because I like them alot. Found a guy in KZOO with a this http://kalamazoo.craigslist.org/pts/2242203911.html Idk if he still has it or if its even in good shape, but it would be nice to have a beefier rear end if I could do it without major changes.

you could look for a 14 bolt semi float out of a z71... harder to find, but they are out there. and that is still a 6 lug axle, and most of the time should have 3.73's if my research is correct.

as for the front. you would have to stay with your 10 bolt and re-gear to match the back. just gotta know someone descent at setting gears.
