Deulings 1985 K5 Blazer, --aka Borderline Obnoxious; Silver Lake pics and Vids

Damn, those were some badass trucks. I wish I lived by dunes, all we have here is f-in mud.

Is it just me or are visors really popular there still?

You know what I guess I never noticed but yah I guess they are lol.

Ill load the rest of the videos tonight, got some pretty cool ones from the drag strip :thumb:

THis was the guys camping next to us, pretty sweet truck, needs some fine tuning though, and a new rear driveshaft after he blew it up sunday lol.

There is a lot of sweet rides at Silver Lake, always is, great place to wheel and have fun, and the sand polishes your tires for you.

About that truck, holy pitman arm batman, that doesn't look good. The frame mount for the rear control arms looks a little iffy too. But it does look like a fun ride, all of them do.

great Pics Adam, where did you stay?
I usually stay out west of town headed towards the lighthouse road, we stay up the dirt road to the left instead of heading towards termite bridge (where MacWoods property is).

We Stay at Silver hills, when you leave town and go past YOGI theirs that big left turn, but it you keep going straight (well they changed it a little, I guess its a slight turn to the right then straight now lol) theirs a big pink and crazy color sign that says Silver Hills campground, and its just a 1/4 mile or so down that road. Really nice place. My dad and boss and all their friends have been camping their since they could drive, and ive been going every memorial and labor day weekend for lets see now.... 20 years!!!:thumb:
My dad didnt go because my brother had regonals for track, and my boss didnt go because he had to get the house ready for his daughters grad party. So it was just me and about 12 buddies this year. Had a BLAST!!!

Oh and about those videos, I seem to have forgotten my camera at my dads house.... so I wont be posting those tonight, lol sorry.

Yah it was a pretty cool truck, he has alot of kinks to work out on it, he said he bought it from a guy who did it all up like that just for a show truck, said the thing didnt even have enough engine to get it on the trailer when he got it, its got a 427 BBC now, and he said it should be all good to go by labor day. On the drag the thing was all over the place.

This guy was owning it all weekend

He even toasted my buddy's 1000hp dmax

Yeah holy crap that does look like he's flying in a very short time. Did you get any details of what's in it?

Did you post a vid jess? i cant see on my phone. I hope your talkin about that other silver chevy with paddles and the nos bottle in back. That thing was gone everytime he matted it

Fun times!! What's the deal with dual flags up front? Is that the law? In Pismo, When I used to go there, Everybody had them in the back.

Is that a monster Burb in the background? Got any pics of that rig? Seems to be a lot of GMs there:waytogo:

I think the reasoning for flags up front is when you go up a hill they want the flags visible as much as possible on the other side. Personally i think they need to be twice as tall as they are. We almost got a dirtbike through the windshield of the cummins and i almost got ran over on the quad by a dbag going the wrong way over the hill. Silver lake is mostly all directional to prevent that crap but i guess some people cant read the ten foot signs..... And oh ya i got some vid of the monster burb lol

Yah it was the silver shortbed with paddles. He even toasted my buddies 1000hp dmax. I only heard him shift once so I assume he has a powerglide.

The only part that is directional is the big hill area from North side to the south side....everywhere else is WFO...some people got no brains out there.

I'll be leaving for silver lake in the morning. Should be out there Friday evening, all day saturday, and part of sunday maybe. Look for my red/silver truck if you are there. Or if you know me, go to the top of test hill so you can get a signal and leave me a message! ha ha. You can also find me near my father's black/woody colored Willy's on a Chevy 4x4 frame with a roots blower on a 502BB, that rig is a little less subtle!

I wanted to but I had the fiance and a few of her friends with me. From what I saw he had a lot of bling, but done right. Cables, and lines ran neat etc.

Yah the directional area is where the dirt bike came jumping over the hill going the wrong way and landed inches to the side of the cummins, and one of those dbags in the long travel sand rails was hoppin hills in the wrong direction and came over just a few feet from me in the quad, I got all shaky for a minute lol.

And dont forget about the NOS!!! Oh and the GO-PRO he had mounted in the back :thumb:

And I did get some progress done today lol

Made a makeshift engine stand for transporting the new one the hour and a half drive home, used the old one to make it. Just had some slotted strut laying around and a 2x4, its ugly but should work, feels really sturdy :thumb:
