Im excited but scared at the same time because i feel my city mileage is going to be scary bad, and i do lots of that. So with that converter does that mean i wont be able to move until it hits the stall rpm? If so ima piss alot of people off when i leave for work in the am lol. My exhaust is already obnoxious at low rpm lol.

No, a converter is a fluid coupling, so the the higher torque to apply to it the higher it will stall. If you are just using low throttle it will still go, it may slip a little more than it did before, but it will still move at lower RPM light throttle because not much torque is applied.

My truck is a 10" converter(more like 3000 stall), and it starts to move around 1200 - 1300 RPM. If I am idling and I just let off the brake, it doesn't move though, just sits there. I think if I had an 11" it would be perfect for my truck, although maybe slightly slower on the drags. Also, the same converter with a smaller engine will stall lower than with a larger engine with more torque.

Sweet that makes me feel better heath. And thanks brian for the pic upload :thumb:

Now im really itchin to get this thing all together. I think i may get a new flywheel while im in there since i just reused the one it came with. Just for security. I cant remember what tooth count i need. I know its externaly balanced though.

It's a "flexplate" with an automatic. You have the larger one.

Martin

Careful there Adam, you need the externally balanced flexplate with the 400, but not the newer version, the original 400 SB external one. I would get the SFI version if I were you, it's thicker with dual welds, so it's safer, stronger, and will last longer. Should be able to get it for $50 - $60.

Could you shoot me a link heath? Just so i dont get the wrong one.

Look'n good Adam
I like the color of the carpet...but might be hard to keep clean.:dunno
Sweet deal on the trans too!:woot:

What color are your seats!?

And, no... It won't be hard to clean.
Adam plays in the sand.... Sh*t'll blend in, and vac out. :D

For securing the carpet, no need for glue or velcro. Just use the factory trim at the doors to hold it down, then the seats secure it in the middle along with the shifter boot on the hump. Make sure it sits flat and that should be all you need. If its not sitting right then I guess velcro is a good option. But you can always ad a strip of metal over the top secured with sheetmetal screws to the floor. You can paint the strip to match your interior and ad polished screw heads for a clean look.

Black seat covers on my front seats. Gray rear seat( ill have to figure out somethin for that and the door panels. And good call on the molding except i have none of it lol. Didnt come with any on the floor. Ill see if i can play with some alluminum.

Hit up the for sale section here for the trim, lots of people always parting trucks with complete interiors. Trim is easy to paint with that interior/vinyl die spray paint if the colors aren't right. Or hit up a scrap yard, but if your scrap yards are anything like mine then these trucks are hard to find, especially complete. I'd say buy aftermarket at LMC or similar but they charge an arm and a leg for trim pieces.

Yah im not spendin $100 to hold down th CL carpet i Bought for $50 lol.
