Deuling's 1985 K5. "Restart thread on post #8415"

Also we dont really have these parts yards you guys speak of. Most of these rotted back to the earth many years ago. Parts yards here are all 2000 and newer stuff...

They used to have it. Not that it wasn't all rusty anyway.

Then the high scrap prices of the mid 2000's happened...

Hey Mitch how do you rotate the pump in the housing? Does it just unbolt or is it a press in thing?

Pump unbolts from ham can. There is a big o-ring that goes around the pump that seals the pump to ham can, remove bolts rotate pump re-install bolts. Just make sure the o-ring is good, to ensure no leaks.

Fawesome.

Thanks :waytogo:

IME the ham can has an opening that is sealed with an O ring to the pump casting preventing rotating of the casting in the can.

I remember the same as Zim, there is an offset bolt hole with an o-ring, so you can only bolt it in one way I believe.

Here's what I have, it was pulled from a 96 4.3 that went bad with 130k on it.
He swapped engines and I bought all of these parts to do another BBC serp swap.
Includes the engine brackets, AC comp, PS pump, alternator, water pump, crank pulley, tensioner, idler pulley and assorted bagged bolts and nuts.
Maybe someone can find a diagram of assembly for it all.
It was just all thrown in a couple boxes for me.

I can bring it along so you can check to make sure it fits and is what you want.
Its what I paid for it and I was going to use it on the CC 454 but now that I'm going 6BT I don't need it.

Ok sounds good.

For now I'll just grab the pump Craig has and hope it works.

Deuling, let me know if you (or anybody else on here) needs diagrams for anything. I can get a lot of late model stuff.

Adam, I checked my dads 96 Blazer today...it has the same exact setup on it.
Brian, a front accessory drive diagram wouldn't hurt if you can acquire it for Adam.
This PS pump has a long neck on it which comes up beside the A/C compressor for easy filling/checking.
