very common so they can mass produce wheels at a standard bore and then make the rings specific to a car's application.
You don't usually hear the term "mass produce" when talking about these trucks lol.
I went to massive wheel studs. I have not had an issue. Not hub centric.
This, going with 9/16 studs meant for a 3/4 ton on my 1/2 ton
I went with 1/2" ARP wheel studs front and rear. They're 3" long with speed starter nubs on the end. Open top acorn style lug nuts and my wheels aren't going anywhere.
