I am looking for a set of direct fit shorty headers for my '90 K5 Blazer 350TBI. I do not want to have to modify my exhaust as it is a fairly new dual setup. I also do not need any emissions stuff as my truck does not have any A.I.R. stuff in it. My biggest issue with finding parts for this truck is that it seems everywhere places my truck with the '88 to '95 chevy trucks even though it is still old body style and those headers will not work. Has anyone come across a set that would fit my truck?

Your biggest problem is, you have is dual exhaust. No TBI Blazers came with dual exhaust. All the shorty headers made for TBI Blazers, Jimmys, subs, are made to hook up to the stock single exhaust. Most come with their own Y pipe. Edelbrock makes headers for K5s, But come with their own Y pipe.
The only shortys that I can think of that may work for you might be Pacesetter Headers. They make shortys for 88 and up K5s. But call them for fit in your application with dual exhaust.
I know the headers for 88 and up IFS trucks wont fit. They will hit the frame and dont come near to bolting up to the stock exhaust.

I realize that no Blazers came with dual exhaust but since it is done to the factory manifolds I was hoping to find some shorty headers that would have fit to the factory y-pipe. They make them for most every other chev truck, but I can't find ones that do not come with their own y-pipe for a Blazer.

I just installed a set of shorty headers for 88-95 truck in my 89 blazer and they do fit without hitting the frame rail but you need to plug the 02 sensor bung and relocate that into the exhaust pipe. Also they won't fit your existing exhaust pipes but a new section of head/collector pipe is all that's needed.

Is a new section of head/collector pipe needed for both sides or just the drivers. The passenger side looks to be fairly close in appearance. I didn't really want to cut up my exhaust as it is one piece back to the mufflers. Also if I were to cut up my exhaust I may as well put in full length headers. As for the Pacesetter Headers, anytime you see '88-'95 listed for Blazers you pretty much now that the part will be wrong as most parts companies don't realize the Blazer maintained the old body style and frame until '92 and they are just clumping them with the '88-'95 trucks.

The passenger side header collector is different than stock. I would just have a new section of collector pipe made for each side after the headers are installed.

Also since you said you don't have any AIR any header for 73-87 blazer will work. Much easier to deal with since you know that is the old body style.

Aren't the shorty headers supposed to be a replacement for the stock manifolds? I don't see why single/dual pipes matters, as long as it is connected to the manifolds. I guess if they come with their own y-pipe, that is a giveaway; I just haven't ever seen them advertised that way.

Also, didn't 6.2L Blazers come with dual exhaust stock?

6.2's had duals stock.

I believe Edelbrocks shorties come with their own y-pipe. But you should be correct in that if the truck is manifolds currently, and the shorties are drop in, the dump location doesn't change, and that should be the only important measurement.
