I also worked on the linkage stuff just a little today. It's coming together well. They'll pivot on a 3/8" shoulder bolt with nylon washers between to prevent chatter and hold grease in. Some clown broke our 3/8" drill bit at work so I'll have to do that part at home or take my bits to work.

The marking for the necessary slots will be made using a transfer punch at the beginnings and ends of the length of travel at the shift rails then the drilling and milling will take place. This is as far as I went today. Just checked that the bends were correct. Looks pretty close to me.

I'm jealous. Much better gearing than the NP203 range box.

I just want to drive my rig again. It hasn't been down this long since I've had it!

Running driveline ideas through my mind now thinking that they might be the "fuse" that keeps from wrecking other stuff. Still torn between 1350 & 1410.

Go 1410.. 1350 have less working angle than 1310 or 1410. Not a huge deal for the rear, but front it is.

Yeah, I know. I'll run the 3R's until I can upgrade. The only difference in the spicer 1350's and spicer 3R's that I have here is the 1/16" difference in cap size. Trunion size is close to the same. Then we factor in the added mass of the 1350 yokes and the added strength there and the better leverage. Pivot ball comparison, etc.

I do run CV's and streetabiliy will be the final deciding factor. I need the higher operating angle of the 1410's and I'd even have BAMF's already if street reliability weren't a factor. I've yet to see someone say that they street-drive those without issues and have no experience with them myself so I dunno.

I've got all that going in the back of my mind in the midst of everything else going on. I will focus more on it later.

Spent the day at work but a little more than what was assigned. Personal errands went with business errands! Turned a slip drive flange into a fixed one for a temporary fix, sourced a seal for it, then followed by prepping the 205 case. Got a little further on the linkages, Roloc work on sealing surfaces, chased all the threads with a tap in a drill, primer, then paint. Still have to clean speedo housing and get paint on it but it's soaking in the vat. Assembly of the 205 should commence tomorrow then get the rig in the shop for crossmembers & such. WHEW! What a busy day! Wait... it IS tomorrow!

Got the 205 built up. Still waiting on another 32-spline output flange for the front and a seal for the one on the rear. The rear one is Metric/SAE so a bastard size. Neither CR or National had it available but SKF did. Should be here tomorrow.

Managed to get a few pics although I didn't take many breaks. The clean-up, prime, paint phase didn't get many pics but here they are.

As per request, I'm posting this pic separately for those who may not know the difference in these rear outputs.

New Dodge-style rear output shaft beside old school Chevy one. Old one has smooth-bore speedo drive gear and not really ideal for much of anything any longer. It would go on and be followed by a spacer and then a bearing.

The newer/stronger rear outputs have a spline for the speedo gear BUT I'm not mess'n with all that speedo setup BS. The VSS tone ring from a np241 fits, after being shortened in the lathe, followed by the bearing.

Here's another 205 pic. Still waiting on another drive flange to come in. Gonna have to sit until the weekend then, Lord willing, the progress will resume. More shifter stuff should arrive today so I should be able to get that done too.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Tcase is lookin' good.

I see your shift linkages, I'm imagining you'll be using cables. Where are you planning to attach the cables to the linkage?

Merry Christmas to you as well!
