Well I just found out I'm going to be working 7 12s in downtown Nashville for the next couple weeks so won't have any time for this in the near future :angry1:

still get your OT/DT through the union though right?

That's great and sux at the same time. At least you get paid for the time...I hope...lol. Being in the military, working 14/+ hour days is normal and I don't get paid any extra. Have fun!

Used to have a job working those kind of hours. Took a toll on me, wife and my marriage. Good luck dude.

This is very short term. Another contractor needed us to bail them out so they can finish a job as close to on time as possible, they're still going to run over, they just got us involved yesterday and it's supposed to be turned over on the 1st

Been doing quite a bit of work out in the garage lately but most of it has been non-K5 related.

Did fully insulate my garage door for winter and install a bunch of LED shop lights so that's awesome

Also worked a little more on the armored oil pan. My buddy's tig job of the original design didn't turn out so well so i had to mig on these 2" tube caps from DIY4X in order to hide some ugly.

I need to do some sealing on the inside just for extra insurance with some of the burn-through from welding the 1/8" plate to the sheet metal pan but then i should be able to bolt it up and get some clearance shots.

Needs more gussets :D

And those shop lights are bitchin. I need to do that, which ones did you go with?

I actually got them from Home Depot. I shopped around online and even with tax, they wound up being the cheapest for these "linkable" led shop lights. You can put 8 in series off a single plug end. I think they were the Commercial Electric brand but they substituted and price matched since the ones i originally ordered (cheaper units) were on backorder.

That's roughly 55,000 lumens of led lighting by the way.

Started on the roll cage this past weekend

Began with measurements, layout, bender mapping and install of staked cage plates from DIY4X.

B pillar mocked up and tacked.

Need to mock up the soft top to continue with back of cage and will probably order a new bedside soon also.

Have just a tiny bit of twist to get out and some sucking in to do with the rachet strap at the ends. Going to cut to length, notch, and tack on to the B pillar this evening. The soft top operation has forced me to truncate the rear of the cage and turn it into more of a fast back than originally planned but it should still look pretty cool. Have to be flexible and able to design on the fly sometimes.

Voila! That's french for "Damn I'm good!" Hahahaha. Still have some tweaking to do when i do my kicker bars and such but it's headed in the right direction. This is going to be one bitchin cage when its done and something that's hopefully different than what you see everyday.

@skunked I hope this progress is making you happy, compared to my previous pace this is like 2 years of work in a week
