I am getting ready to start fabbing a front bumper for my brothers 89 Wagoneer (full-size heep) and plan on doing a shackle reversal incorporated into it (think DIY A-bomb) , anyway while researching some other builds we have come across a few that are running Liquid Iron slider boxes as opposed to a conventional shackle at the rear of the front spring. https://liquidironindustries.com/Liquid-Iron-Industries-Universal-Slider-Box-Kit.html

I understand the concept of it, but to me it seems like you would loose down travel compared to a regular shackle set up. I could see how it would help with lateral movement issues that are often associated with long spring and shackle setups.

I guess my question is, have any of you guys used this setup, have a buddy who does, once wheeled with someone who did, etc??
How much affect would the "angle of the slide" affect performance...mounting the box flat, angled up or down ? Any input would be awesome :waytogo:

.......also some rig info...89 Wagoneer, AMC 360, 727 trans, Dana 300 case, Dodge Dana 60,70 combo, x over steering, currently has a spring over with stiff 2" BJ's front springs, rear has GM 63" springs with 6" shackles and an EZ inch, rides on 37" military Baja's.

I've got them for the back of my trooper wrapped up. T from LII is a good dude. He's building my buddy's KOH buggy so when we went there to drop parts off I had a chance to pick his brain a little.

Basically you'll never max them out if you set your ride height correctly. Also he sells them with an angle built into them then you just mount the bracket itself flat.
