DPI Rock Sliders and Bumpers

All post and PMs answered. Thanks for the business guys!

Be sure to get your tax returns filed by April 15th. This will make you eligible for the tax rebates or $300-$600 to be mailed starting early May!

Body protection would be a great way to spend it and help stimulate the economy! :D

Keep the orders coming. Lots of intersting custom tubework going out the door!

And get those taxes filed!

Here's the latest rig in the shop. 2008 F350 4x4. The local fire department asked we build them something with a big brush guard and something that could take some abuse from the younger firefighters.

I think we did well. This is pretty much bash proof. All 3/8" plate (including the full skid plate) and triangulated wrap-around protection bars. Oh, and we coated it with our custom spray on bedliner...

It is wrapped around a new Ramsey DC200 worm drive winch. It is rated for 8000 lbs, but certified to pull 16000. It's also all ball bearings - not bushings.

Now where is the winch?

The winch is mounted directly behind the bumper and underneath the core support using its own mount. It was a big winch too. The Ramsey RE12000 worm drive winch, that is a large odd shaped winch, but it would pull down a house, and its similar to the commercial model all the wreckers use...

Nice! :D

Looks like it saves adding length to the truck. Does it reduce approach angle, is it lower? I can't really tell by the photos.

Thanks -
It actually improves approach angle over a stock or aftermarket front winch mount bumper. The skid plate is above the spring mounts. And it doesn't stick out an farther forward than the stock configuration. It's great for rock crawling, but if you goes nose first into a mud hole, you may have trouble retrieving the winch cable.

Thanks for the honesty. As much as I'd like to stay as short as possible for local wheeling the lower winch may be a disadvantage here in more deep snow than mud.

I went nose first into a flooded ditch one time with a behind the bumper winch in one of my old tow rigs. It was a factory setup, not one of mine. Anyway, I could not get to the winch. It was under water and buried into the other side of the ditch. I was screwed... And water was flowing through my truck. It ended up taking two other tow rigs to pull me out. That sucked!

That's why I developed the rear winch bumper. And also the quick mount receivers front and back. It is nice to move the winch back and forth when needed. Not only for recovery, but it's nice to yank the rear off a tree too when needed.

is it possible to mount the sliders to the frame? the part where they attach are pretty much rotted away on my truck

im just exploring some options. im lookin for a slider/ step. itd have to be mounted to the fraame cuz the rockers are pretty much filled with expanding foam from the P.O and the cab supports where yours would normally attach are the same way

You tell me how you want them built and we can build them to your specs.:waytogo:

We just built a set for a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500!

Pictures?
