Driving to BB2022

I did about 2500 miles round trip last year for BB.

With a 20 gallon tank and the bladder of an old man that's alot of stops.

I computed my milage a few times, best I got was 12 mpg. Then I quit checking.

At some point I just quit counting how much I was spending.

BTW, gas here in SW Washington was going for $4.19 for regular today.
Love to get 12...on my epic road trip the home leg in the K5 gave a 10.5 average...for 2222 miles. Still haven't added upp the cost yet. Scared to!! Lol

Cost was 731.15, minus the last 2 stops I didn't record. I was whupped...

Average cost was $3.46, with actual average 10.25 mpg.

It likes 75-80 mph...lol despite being a brick.

My data was created on Jan 9, and completed Jan 13, 2022.

This is all return trip data

p.s., we were regularly hitting sub $3.00 Heading West until New Mexico...steadily went up from there.

that right there says it all; who cares? did you have fun? enjoy life while you can. :pimp1:
Amen Brother. It would have been epic at twice the price... next time I'm going solo. Having a built in time constraint sucked.

My trucks likes 60-65 mph. Seems very comfortable. Keeps the RPM's around 2450 ish.
4.10's, 37's, sm465 and almost 6000lbs.
Life in the slow lane...

Mine is happy at 65 at a light rpm of 1800-ish. But I commonly end up hauling the mail at 85 mph/2400 rpm.

Still if I can sow down it can pull 13 mpg.

You all are amateurs. The crew cab averages 8mpg. It surprises me all my efforts to improve aerodynamics haven't helped. Bigger tires, more lift, extra transfercase, big front bumper; none of that has improved mpg. I think the next thing I'll try before Blazer Bash is a bigger cam, surely that will do it!

I’m right there with ya in the 8mpg club.

Mine can get 8 if I drive it like a pissed off teenager.
