Dual Quad EFI

Is that 3500 dollar holly system in your budget ?


FItech has a dual quad setup to.

Can I borrow 3500 bucks?
If not, I could probably swing it if I had to, but that's why I was hoping to get a few opinions from someone who tried this before.

There's a couple of folks with the FItech set ups on AMC crossrams but they seem to be mostly show cars.
Not a lot of tech on them and I'm guessing that they haven't done much more than load them on/off the trailer.
I'm also not real impressed with the look of the throttle bodies on the FItech. They aren't that bad, if the system would perform like the Holley, I could just hide them with a bigger air cleaner.

Ironic thing is that I picked up this car so I would butcher my Machine which I originally paid 3500 for!!!
It;s probably worth a bit more now.

Any who, this is the look I'm after under the hood (maybe a little less gold).

I was kinda hoping you'd try it first... not so good at finishing projects.
Generally get about 90% finished, get bored or mad and move on to the next one.

Meeting up on a track day would be cool but it'd have to be during the cooler months.
You know how pvc flexes when it's warm.

I'm a bit dissapointed with the car right now.
It was supposed to have (or at least I thought) double adjustable Vikings on all 5 corners,
Instead it has some junk QA1 single adjustable budget shit on it.
Here's a pic from the manufactures instructions. Notice anything wrong with the spring?

Sure made for a shitty ride. With weight on them there was a 3/8" of travel until they bottomed.
Have it adjusted where it'll fly for now.

No, but there's a good chance the carb spacing is the same.
I know that the top for the original UR20 tunnel ram on the AMC is the same as the hemi.

Killer set up though. Cross rams don't perform for squat but they sure are cool!

That spring appears to have like zero travel.

Whats the hell is with that spindle to upper control arm mount? Looks sketchy.

That subframe bolted to the bottom of the factory frame looks dope.

Ridetech went away from viking. So maybe they aren't the best anyway? IDK whatever that is worth.

I didn't spring ( see what I did there) for the best coilover I can buy. I didn't have unlimited funds to pull from. I will probably upgrade to some remote reservoir coil over in the future.
They are double adjustable though.

There is no ****ing that UCA to spindle mount should be like that.....

The top mount looks sketchy in the pic but it mounts into the original coil spring/shock mount on the unibody.
It's actually pretty robust.


Guess if they wanted to save a few more bucks they could have left it like this,

Thank god it's made of pvc or it would be a noisy little bastard...
Unfortuneatly, I'm pretty sure it's the same car. Can't really call it mine yet.
Haven't done anything major to it yet.

Here's a shot of it 5 New York years later and actually bolted together.



Like I said, it needs a lot.

• Coil overs are 1 step above a piece of rebar
• Bushings are all poly and squeak like hell
• Hiem joint for steering is worn and binds
• Needs 1 pc axles and a posi (sound familiar?)
• Needs rear disks
  
• Has a 12.5hp 290
  
• Not only is the transmission made of cast iron, it's missing a 3rd pedal
• then it just needs all the cosmetic stuff like paint/body and maybe an interior.

On the plus side, the 12.5hp sounds pretty tuff!

And I could have a few more. And I only recently got my ass in gear on my chevelle. All the other are at various stages of non done.

Read your comments in your cone crusher post. There's not much interest here, let's clog away...

Have some of the same thoughts about chassis. I wanted to see what I could do with some bolt on suspension parts and if that didn't float my boat I'd build a tube chassis for the Crusty 72 Ambo that you saw and make it somewhat reminiscent of the 72 Bobby Allison Matador (you asked why I kept getting northern car... well don't care about the floors or trunk, only really cared about the basic shell and the interior parts are a bonus).
The plaque made less of a difference to me and track time and such, because I'm not really in a position to make many track days. On the plus side, when I can get out, there's tons of little 2 lane, curvy roads around here to keep ya entertained.

As far as posting projects and setting yourself up for failure. Completely understandable but I'm used to projects/programs constantly coming and going from work, so that's not big deal to me. Things change, adapt and go on. But your concerns are why I generally only post stuff here... much better group of degenerative gear heads than any other site I know of.

So back to the original post,,, Get crackin on your crossram.

Well I'm sure another amc will pop up way to far away to be reasonable to buy. So you will buy it and get it home.
Once you do that and decide what your going to do with it. Then you will remember this rebel and think about that cross ram again.
By the time all that happens,
I might have bought a manifold and a tb.
We will see, i guess.
