I had to break down and buy a new battery for it.
Eliminated the dual battery setup in the process. Thats where I found an old wire that was still draining it. Wiring is still a mess.
Might put it the dual battery setup back in when it comes time to plow snow.

Anyone got any tricks to get a NP205 out of 4 low?
Was doing some dump truck things and now it doesn't seem to want to come out. I haven't went underneath to mess with anything, nor have I gave it my full on HE-MAN pull....

Get under there and lightly tap the shift rails while in neutral on flat ground all while being safe about it.

You don't want to pull too hard on the lever as you could break the link between the two rails. Just tap the rails with a hammer or something.


That doesn't work at all. The rails are all the way in. You can fish a pry bar in there and pull em out.

Had decent luck backing up then putting the trans in neutral

Tryed that, along with all the other neutral, park, locked, unlocked tricks I could think of. I'll try banging my BFH on it tomorrow. I need to drive it down the road and 4 low isn't going to cut it.

When ya crawl under just make sure the tcase is secured to the trans. That’ll cause that too

My luck this year? Yeah that will be it for sure, probably a broken trans case or 205.
