ECM Tuning and Harness Building - GM - Ford - Chrysler - More

Been getting questions on how we pull engines and what all they come with. When an engine gets pulled everything stays intact until we pull the harness for rework. Here is an example of how an engine hits our shop before it is processed for the final customer.

Everything that was with that engine stays with it until the end. We do not mix and match parts to assemble. From the MAF to the rear O2s everything stays together. Videos of the engines running before pulling them are available upon request. From here we can alter as you wish. Harness, tune, cam, intake.... Its virtually endless. Transmissions are available as well. Base cost is determined by mileage.

Hey @Team208Motorsports , talk to me about tuning a 04 5.3/4l60e PCM for a manual transmission. Ever done any transmission segment swapping? Is just deleting automatic related trouble codes kosher? Thanks

Can you fix my tune on my blazer. I have a 2007 5.3 ,4L65E LS swap in it. It has headers with o2 sensors in the collectors, a spectrum air intake, electric fans and AC. Not sure if the guy that did the harness removed more then necessary. I have EFILive that was used to tune it already.

Could a custom tune on a 16147060 TBI with 4L80E ECM/PCM be done? I have done some research on custom tuning for these ECM's, and there is not much out there because this is not a popular (TBI/ECM/4L80E) combo to custom tune (like the old 7747 are). I am currently putting a new GM Goodwrench TBI 350 replacement engine into a 1991 Chevy V3500. The engine has 9.25:1 compression, with a small COMP Computer Cam 12-304-12 (252 dur./.406 lift), bored out intake and TBI from RV Morse (adjustable regulator), a couple of ACDELCO EP377 fuel pumps, headers, and a new engine bay wiring harness from Howell Fuel Injection. After this engine is fired up and running, it is going to have to have a custom ECM tune because of the modifications.

Don't think I saw it asked before, but can you make stand alone harness's from scratch? (Meaning don't have a full harness to start with to be reworked). I have an 8.1 liter that I need a full stand alone harness, plus a tune to handle a L29 mech throttle body on it (not DBW). Is this something you can do?

@1-ton your inbox is full. Yes I can tune that. I need the BCC 4 letter code.

@Kay86K5 I am not currently building brand new harnesses. I can source one if needed though. Drive by cable is no problem.

Sounds good. I may get in contact with you in the coming months as I get closer to dealing with the harness/tune. Thanks!

I have never been able to figure out how to empty my mail box. I will look you guys up after the new engine is fired up and broke in. I was also going to ask about a new engine bay harness for my truck because the one from Howell Fuel Injection fell through, but I see you guys are not doing them currently. That is OK, I would not want to tackle an OEM harness for my one-off oddball truck either. I am going to take the time to build my own.

Major props to all the cars running 208 tunes at the Ultra Stampede this last weekend. Its a true honor tuning for you! I just wish I could fit all of you in one pic. Coming home with 1/3 of the podiums running 208 tunes is just..... I don't have words for it. Thank you all!

Thanks Redline Projects for taking some sweet shots.

I just had my ECM out of my truck yesterday, and I forgot to look at that info. I just put a new heater core in my truck, and I pulled the ECM out to make it easier to get at the heater core air box.

I have a second question about my injectors and new fuel pumps. I have a set of #61 injectors remaned by Vic Morse, and a Vic Morse bored TBI with adjustable fuel pressure regulator. I also bought a set of new AC/DELCO EP377 fuel pumps (saddle tanks), which are rated a max 30 PSI.

My question is...the original fuel pumps where rated for max 13 PSI, and the #61 injectors where matched by GM deliver a specified amount of fuel from the 12-13 PSI pump...is the mismatch between injectors and fuel pump pressure going to cause a problem?

Pressure is handled by the regulator not the pump. So if the reg is working you could put a 100 psi pump in and be fine.

COOL! I was thinking the same thing, but I needed a pro like you to confirm it. I am going to google that Ultra Stampede, and see if there is any video on the web at that event to watch. Thanks.

I'm not just LS based tuning. I cover much more than what HP Tuners has to offer.

Couple Holley HP based rigs from this weekend.

496 BBC, 871 Blower, Dual TBI style throttle bodies, 160 lb injectors, E85.
Anyone who saw this rig at TTC this year will see a difference in how it runs. LOL. That was pre 208 tuning. Once it started making power it destroyed 1st gear in the th400. All videos are 2nd and 3rd.
