here to report almost 4hr of snow plowing in the budget beater yesterday and used 1/3 tank of fuel the whole time . that was my 8k sq ft driveway/parking lot / the street in front of the house / few friends and HUGE PARKING LOT at work that's for 40-50 cars and also infront of the hanger doors for airplanes .

EDELBROCK PRO FLO 4 = :saweet:

Well, I've been looking into modding the TBI setup on my 89 Camaro a little. Also been following this thread as performance EFI is something I'd like to play with eventually. Then I noticed the Edelbrock makes a TPI style ram intake for this setup. Now I'm thinking my old Camaro might eventually be a test bed for that. Of course then the mod bug is gonna hit hard. But I'm going to have to hold off for now till I get some other things taken care of.

But as always, thanks for the rabbit hole guys!

check check 1 2 1 2

how is all the pro flo 4 users doin ?

mine is still crusin just fine and loving it .

guy over on 67-72 site had a OTHER brand unit  starts with a Hxxxxx and he had the same story as me and figured he would try it like i did and he has fallen for the edelbrock pro flo 4 unit .

he found this story and posted it up for others to read so i figured i would share . https://www.chevyhardcore.com/tech-stories/road-trip-testing-edelbrocks-pro-flo-4-efi-system/

my one buddy here local got a Hxxx unit and i saw it fresh out of the box and told him SEND it back . . . i was just there last weekend and he also got a pro flo 4 for BBC 454 with the edelbrock top end package he has in his truck .

Finally upgraded mine to the latest 65 firmware. Sorry on the slow train with mine lately. When you do that, you also have to upgrade your map config file so they match (see picture below). Had no idea until I watched the video. I noticed on the old firmware, mine would hit a super high A/F ratio and would not come down and run like shit sometimes. Seems to be running better but still need some run time.

Once you did the update, how long has it taken to clear up and run right?

I'm still back about 2 or 3 revisions. Ain't broke...

It was instantly better for me since it wasn't going super lean and the problem has not come back. I still have very low miles on mine since I've been having over heating issues and limited time to address it. I would save your map, and follow the instructions in the video. It might take 100 miles to fully adjust to your engine again but don't think you would notice too much. Just watch for that super high A/F issue. Someone else on the Edelbrock forums was having same issue and they suggested he upgrade firmware first so I think they know about it with the older versions. Totally agree with you on don't fix it if it ain't broke!

Yeah, mine was damn near dead on out of the box (no AC or auto)
Does what I want, just want it to have forced induction at 11000'

New version has forced induction option :)

This is one quote from Edelbrock tech:

V65 Firmware is much more stable & much quicker.

Not many injector issues.
but many with old versions of Firmware.

My experience after the one update was that it took a while to get back to where it was because I didn't write down the instructions, so I didn't get the saved map into it. I had to start from square one. I have had to figure out how to keep it from adjusting while wheeling. I turned the self learn rpm up because it of the load at idle from the automatic and sometimes the A/C. Then bumping the throttle up and down often would change the fuel trim. I gave it some learn time in neutral and A/C off to straighten it up, then adjusted the learn rpm up.

I had to pull fuel during cranking when the engine is hot because it would put some black out on fire up. I think that 5% was all I did. I also had to add fuel during cold start when the coolant temp was down, otherwise I couldn't move the truck at all without it dying when put into gear. I used the advanced settings for each to set it just at coolant temperature ranges that needed help.
